[Voice] - About Moon Cycle Antics...

[Midna does not make much use out of the network, but figures she has a question and doesn't want her face attached to it, in the event that anyone puts two and two together and realises she's actually asking for a little assistance. In the most subtle way she can muster, anyway.]

Hello, lovelies.
I've a question and your cycle—moon—whatever you wish to call it—is irrelevant.

How you do handle traits you acquire that could potentially be harmful to others, or to yourself? A good example of this might be if you grow horns and don't want to gore anyone who comes near you or sleeps next to you. Another example of this might be if you acquire serpent traits and possibly have some form of venomous accompaniment. Not that I know how that would work.

But you get the point, I'm sure. I'm not asking for any specific reason other than curiosity, so please, indulge me.

Cordis, I have cat-like claws and canine teeth.

Unfortunately, sometimes trial and error is all you can do. Moonblessed and Moonheld changes are so varied, I doubt there are self-help books for things like this.

I can understand why. Even if you have traits from your own moon figured out, you never know when you'll end up around someone else dealing with unfamiliar changes.
foolishjustice: (This looks bad.)

Mine have been...fairly consistent so far, at least in terms of the visible changes.

The thing I'm having the most trouble figuring out, honestly, is the pheromones. I haven't figured out how to keep them from distracting people, or inciting them toward behavior they'd be ashamed of later.

If you're thinking a scent that inspires certain reactions in others, then yes. The ones Cordis Moonblessed have make us seem more attractive to others. All I've been able to figure out so far is to warn anyone I don't keep a physical distance from, so that they'll at least know they're at risk of breathing in something mood altering.

It's a fairly common trait, though the specific scent varies. I've seen others discussing ways to avoid unwanted attention because of it.
foolishjustice: (Strange isn't it?)

I try to avoid being in enclosed spaces with people, and stay downwind when I can. My wings are very sensitive to air currents, so I can easily tell which way the wind is blowing.
foolishjustice: (May I help you?)

A...mix of all three creatures associated with Cordis. I get the wings of an owl, with cat-like claws, feet, ears, and eyes, and the fur pattern and teeth of a fox. Plus a tail that's mostly cat-like, but has owl tail feathers running down the sides.
foolishjustice: (Maybe it's not so bad...)

It was definitely a lot of trouble at first, but it's actually not that bad now that I'm prepared for it. I switched the bed my apartment came with out for a waterbed, and it's very accommodating of my extra limbs. I can even lay on my back and not end up with my wings getting pinched or falling asleep.
foolishjustice: (It's a pleasure to meet you.)

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2019-08-19 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Just what it sounds like: a bed filled with water instead of springs or foam. Since most of its volume is liquid instead of solid, its shape changes to accommodate the person laying on it without causing any extra pressure. They're very helpful when you're short on laying positions that don't have one limb or another underneath you.

It was a little on the expensive side, but I got it from an ordinary furniture store.

[He'll go ahead and give her the address of one on Level 2.]
foolishjustice: (My mistake.)

The top is padded, so it's more difficult to puncture. Otherwise, I'd have probably torn it open with my claws in my sleep.
foolishjustice: (Not bad right?)

Well, Cordis does have three incredibly efficient hunters as its associated animals. Fortunately, the moon influences us toward more playful moods than violent ones.
