[Voice] - About Moon Cycle Antics...

[Midna does not make much use out of the network, but figures she has a question and doesn't want her face attached to it, in the event that anyone puts two and two together and realises she's actually asking for a little assistance. In the most subtle way she can muster, anyway.]

Hello, lovelies.
I've a question and your cycle—moon—whatever you wish to call it—is irrelevant.

How you do handle traits you acquire that could potentially be harmful to others, or to yourself? A good example of this might be if you grow horns and don't want to gore anyone who comes near you or sleeps next to you. Another example of this might be if you acquire serpent traits and possibly have some form of venomous accompaniment. Not that I know how that would work.

But you get the point, I'm sure. I'm not asking for any specific reason other than curiosity, so please, indulge me.

I wouldn't describe you like that at all. Maybe that's just based on your garb. You look like a soldier to me. A knight, anyway. I saw a few of those in Hyrule, so it's not as though I don't know what I'm talking about.

It's a large ape from my world. Very imposing and dangerous.

[He chuckles a bit, though, because perhaps it is flattering to be considered so strong. Let's ignore the implication that he's also an insensitive brute on occasion.]

But I am glad that you see me that way, strange as it sounds. No matter what titles they may give me, in the end I am indeed a soldier first, before all else.

Oh? Afraid I won't find you impressive? [Midna laughs. An ape definitely sounds like a baboon and he is nothing like a baboon.] Please. I'm not that difficult. [No. Wait. She actually is.]

Have you always been a soldier, Gawain? Or what I mean, I suppose, is if you are following in family history. What made you decide to follow that pathway?

Oh I should hope that I am plenty impressive already.

[He is a bit intimidated by her though. But that is hardly a bad thing. Not at all.]

Well, as the son of a King, it was always meant for me to be a kn ight. I take my duty seriously. and I do love defending the people. That is what true strength is. But any doubts I had were erased when I was chosen to be one of the knights serving King Arthur Pendragon.

[Midna has to actually double take because...
Well. He's... a knight. She thought he served a king. A queen? Same difference. She remembers what he told her about his king being a woman who masqueraded as a man.

—Are you a prince?

Ahaha technically I suppose. My Father was a King and my Mother a queen who had a competing claim with my Liege lord. But I do not use the title overly much because I am a knight first.

Come to think of it, he's far more like a prince than she is a princess. Somehow she's unsurprised.

Unfortunately, Midna finds this... oddly humourous and has no shame in laughing about it.]

Well, if your mother and father were queen and king, then you were a prince first because you were born a prince. [See how that works, Gawain?] So I suppose I'll be calling you Your Highness from now on.

[He flushes a little, because yes it is how it works. Very much so.]

Please don't. Much as I do not call you Lady, I would like the same familiarity from you. And it is a strange title to have.

[She chortles softly, though she can understand. The only person who calls her by title is Travis and he does it to be facetious, not even realising she's royalty. Although she supposes she doesn't mind truly being referred to by title if it's by the right person...]

And here I thought you just liked saying my name. [She teases him, her amusement undeniable in her voice.] I suppose if you ask me very nicely, I'll try to acquiesce to your request. [Try being the keyword here.]

[Well Sir is fine honestly. He's a knight after all. Though even that is something he doesn't stand on much these days. He has no king to serve right now.]

Then I shall ask you as kindly and gently as possible, dear friend. [His tone is definitely sweet too. Granted, when isn't it pleasant?] Though I will admit, if you truly refused my request, I would just learn to live with an enjoy it.

[Just hearing him, Midna would not hate listening to him go on. And she cannot help but be stirred the slightest bit when he continues.]

Friend? I'm your friend now, am I? Is a prince allowed to have friends? [Asks a princess who has never really thought she personally had any. Or that she was really permitted to have any.] If you give me special treatment, someone is going to get the wrong impression. Unless... that's what you want them to have.

I mean, of course I must have friends. I had many friends when I was in the Round Table and growing up. Family, cousins and coworkers and all the relationships those bonds can spawn.

[He laughs though.] I mean, I always give people the wrong impression, but I feel no shame in this case.

[Thank the gods he can't see how much he makes her colour. His words are so simple, but they're also not. Of course, Midna doesn't usually care about the impressions other people have either, unless they start assuming she has feelings or something like that. Spending company with gentleman tends to get people talking, however.]

Relatives are different, Gawain. Those aren't the same things as friends. [Listen to her trying to be the expert.] Although I suppose you would have had friends. You're much too charming to be without. And... I suppose I could be called a friend. If that's what you wished.

[HE can't help but beam now, because despite the growing closeness to them, this feels like a victory, to have such simple acceptance from her.]

I am told that sometimes I am too difficult to deal with, but yes, I did have good friends through the years, though duty still came first. I would definitely wish to count you among my closet friends. I take great pride in knowing you.

[And that makes her laugh. Gawain is a Grade A Goof and Midna absolutely adores that about him.]

Prince, you hardly know me. I think what you mean to say is that you take great pride in knowing of my beauty.

[Which is still a magnificent compliment because boy, she is up her own butt about how pretty she is.]

[And he can't help but chuckle because it's not exactly untrue.]

I will admit you have me there. If more of my fellow knights were here, I would indeed brag about your loveliness. And might even need duel them because of it.

[Ohhhh, what a charmer.]

Duel them, in the name of my beauty? Now that you've put the idea in my head, I'm afraid I won't be able to think of much else. You're going to spoil me rotten.

Would you want me to fight a duel for you? I do not mind showing off of course, but...

[Well it is showing off, so he shouldn't.]
