☽ II: video

[Vanitas is seated with his chin propped up in one hand when the video comes on. He looks significantly calmer (and less Sanguis-y) than the last time he made a post like this.]

Bonjour. I've done this once before, but I feel as though I wouldn't be doing my due diligence if I just relied on snooping and idle gossip.

[He straightens up, a hand going to his chest with an undeniably cocky grin.]

So! My name is Vanitas and I am a doctor to vampires, although I myself am just an average human. In an attempt to better understand the nature of the world we currently find ourselves in and those that all of you are from I have a request! I'd like to hear all of your "legends" about vampires. It's become clear that despite the wide variety of worlds represented here vampires are a reality in very few, so I'm curious about where your preconceived notions of them stem from.

Of course if you yourself happen to be a vampire or personally acquainted with any I'm even more interested in you. Don't hesitate to come forward and chat with me, I'll even be accommodating if you want to do so anonymously.

[He waves a gloved hand that ends in sharp nails.] Au revoir~

[ Let him be a good, slightly naive person, Vanitas.............. ]

Unfortunately, what you say is true. Humans, imperfect as they are, do not possess the wisdom to measure the different between themselves and what is not 'human'.
Even as they worship another, their belief can often cause harm.

[ He sure would know well about that. ]

I do believe they can easily disguise themselves among humans, yes, though for those who are keen on magic, they possess a different feeling to them.
As someone experienced in caring for the well-being of vampires, should I believe you have a keen eye for differentiating humans and vampires?

I believe so. I apologize for not being more of help.
However, may I ask which other ways exist to recognize a vampire in a crowd of humans?
I am rather curious about your field of expertise.

I have indeed noticed the Dead Apostle who I have mentioned to you seem to possess rather prominent fangs.
Her eyes are naturally of a red color, however.
Do they tend to express a different behavior than humans, that you may have noticed?
It's peculiar that they so often try to disguise themselves as humans, despite bearing some hatred for them. I'm hardly allowed to express an opinion on the matter, but I can't help but think they might simply wish to live among humanity.

Even among humans, there are those who consider themselves superior than their kin. It is something within our nature, no matter which species we are, don't you think?

I see. It is as you say. It is even quite possible that there are vampires that demonstrate a more "human" nature than some humans themselves.
Is this why you've decided to become a doctor for them?

[ A selfish doctor is still a doctor, he supposes... Though for a moment, Arjuna can't help but wonder if vampires even wish to be cured or saved. ]

I understand. Whatever your reason might be, as long as it does not bring them misery or harm that is not deserving, I am sure your work is one they are thankful for.
