Bonjour. I've done this once before, but I feel as though I wouldn't be doing my due diligence if I just relied on snooping and idle gossip.

[He straightens up, a hand going to his chest with an undeniably cocky grin.]

So! My name is Vanitas and I am a doctor to vampires, although I myself am just an average human. In an attempt to better understand the nature of the world we currently find ourselves in and those that all of you are from I have a request! I'd like to hear all of your "legends" about vampires. It's become clear that despite the wide variety of worlds represented here vampires are a reality in very few, so I'm curious about where your preconceived notions of them stem from.

Of course if you yourself happen to be a vampire or personally acquainted with any I'm even more interested in you. Don't hesitate to come forward and chat with me, I'll even be accommodating if you want to do so anonymously.

Is this a condition that can be cured?
Forgive my ignorance, I am not too familiar with them, despite knowing a few.

Vampirism is not a disease, no, but there are certain ailments that only afflict vampires.

Those are my specialty.

I was under the belief vampires were able to heal themselves once they feed on blood.

Vampires are creatures that subsist- at least in part- by drinking the blood of humans. They also have enhanced supernatural and physical abilities.

About how large are vampires?

Oh really? Vampires of my world are not undead either. So were you born a vampire, then?

My parents were both vampires, yes. We don't live as long as other vampires do, either. I'm only in my thirties.

Well, there's the one about needing an invitation to enter a building, or being warded off by garlic, or not being able to go out in the sunlight.

Bonjour. A doctor for vampires, you say? How exciting. But not too dangerous, I hope? A human surrounded by injured vampires seems like they'd be in a bit of trouble, given the wrong circumstances.

Oh I only nearly die once every week or so, so not too dangerous. I've had far worse jobs!

[It's hard to tell if he's joking (but he isn't). That's what happens when you actively antagonize a good deal of the vampires you come across and have a name with a very bad reputation attached to it.]

But I wouldn't be very good at my job if I couldn't handle the such simple risks of the trade, would I?

I suppose not. You'd have to be very good to survive long enough to make a career out of it.

[ St. Germain has no doubt he means it, he's known plenty of vampires who weren't as nice as him. ]

What kind of illnesses do these vampires suffer? The ones I know of are immune to most of that.

Beni hasn't really met any vampires personally, it seems like if they were around we would've seen them at least once right? Have you met any here? It seems like it would be interesting to actually get to know one.

Probably, but none of them are exactly stepping forward to do what I do. Not as though they could anyway.

It's likely you wouldn't know them as a vampire unless you know what to look for. And I know one here from my own world.

[He's not really interested in outing any of the other vampires he's talked to so far. None of them have gotten on his bad side so he has no reason to be petty and ruin possibly useful connections.]
