[Vanitas is seated with his chin propped up in one hand when the video comes on. He looks significantly calmer (and less Sanguis-y) than the last time he made a post like this.]

Bonjour. I've done this once before, but I feel as though I wouldn't be doing my due diligence if I just relied on snooping and idle gossip.

[He straightens up, a hand going to his chest with an undeniably cocky grin.]

So! My name is Vanitas and I am a doctor to vampires, although I myself am just an average human. In an attempt to better understand the nature of the world we currently find ourselves in and those that all of you are from I have a request! I'd like to hear all of your "legends" about vampires. It's become clear that despite the wide variety of worlds represented here vampires are a reality in very few, so I'm curious about where your preconceived notions of them stem from.

Of course if you yourself happen to be a vampire or personally acquainted with any I'm even more interested in you. Don't hesitate to come forward and chat with me, I'll even be accommodating if you want to do so anonymously.

[He waves a gloved hand that ends in sharp nails.] Au revoir~

[But after a moment he seems to calm down, chuckles fading.]

As for your question... My name carries quite a reputation with it. Many vampires dislike me because of the associations they make with my name.

Really? Why not! You are!

[Seriously, she does not see an issue right now.]

What associations would that be? Sorry, I don't know anything about your name.

Almost everyone I've ever met would be inclined to disagree with you, Mademoiselle.

I share the name of a vampire who sought to destroy the rest of its kin. They had been shunned by all other vampires and cursed them out of hatred, so I suppose you could say it's natural that they all distrust and resent me.

[Quite literally, in that sense.]

Well, I make my own opinions on someone, not what others have to think about someone, and so far you've been plenty polite and made a good first impression.

.... Uh... is that a family name by any chance cause otherwise why would you be named that?

You should be careful being so quick to believe first impressions.

[He's not even just warning in regards to himself. But his expression does darken a fraction.]

We're not family. I took this name on my own.

It's treated me pretty well so far! [And hey ya know, if need be she'll handle it as Sailor Moon. But she wouldn't be Usagi if she didn't try to befriend everyone.]

Can I ask why?

It was revenge.

[There's a beat before his smirk is back.]

That was a lie- I simply felt like it.

Revenge, really?

[Her eyes widen and then she tilts her head.]

Oh... well, I mean, I guess if that's what you want, right?

[He just shrugs.]

It can be troublesome, but there's something to be said for having a reputation too. [Even though he purposefully antagonizes most vampires so he doesn't exactly endear himself to them in the first place.]

Ah, I do know something about reputations, that's true.

But will you tell me about vampires from your world and how you became a doctor of vampires?

[He grins.]

Vampires from my world look virtually indistinguishable from humans with the exception of their fangs and their eyes which glow red in the dark. While they don't actually need blood to survive many like it and some are even addicted. They are much stronger than most humans and have other enhanced abilities that I suppose most people here would consider "magic".

Why wouldn't I ask nicely? [Seriously, it's not like she needs to force this kind of information out of him.]

Why did you become a doctor for one?

[Listen he's used to paying for information and people constantly trying to kill him.]

Because I'm the only one who can do it.

... How'd you find that out?

Well it isn't a natural ability or anything, but the item I use to heal vampires can only be used by me. And there's only one in existence.

Does that mean there's never been a vampire doctor before you?

Not one that does exactly what I do, no.

So they had to suffer everything before you came? Ah! That's wonderful you came along then!

[There's another chuckle.]

Isn't it? They might not appreciate it, but I'll cure them all whether they like it or not.

... Um... why... wouldn't they want to be healed?

Because they don't trust me, or humans in general.

[He snorts]

Actually most of them think I'm the one who brought this upon them in the first place.

I mean, I guess I kinda get it... if this curse only has one person who can cure it. Sounds lame, though.

"Lame"!

[He laughs.]

I suppose you could certainly call it that.

Well, what else would you call it?
