Hello, fellow Moonblessed. If you'll oblige me with some of your time, I have a few questions about humans. That species is nonexistent where I hail from, so please forgive my curiosity, and I apologize in advance if any of these are rude.

1. Humans have no shells or carapace, and their clothing seems more decorative than protective. Am I correct in assuming that they use magic to defend themselves?

2. Do humans go through metamorphosis? I don't believe I have seen a human larva or grub here, though I admit I do not know how I would distinguish human young from an adult other than size.

3. Most humans that I have seen have hair primarily on their heads, rather than their whole body like, for example, a spider. Does that not make regulating their temperature more complicated?

1. Where I'm from, we have an ability called Aura that adds an extra layer of protection and healing so long as it isn't worn down. People who specialize in more dangerous careers in Remnant also have clothing that is more suited for battling.

2. Humans are born lacking many stages of development that come later in life, over time. We often mark stages of development by growth in height as well as other physical changes.

3. A little, yes, but humans are quite good at adapting to their environment.

Another variation in abilities. I am beginning to believe that asking about humans' aptitude in magic is a meaningless question when applied to so many different worlds.

Maybe not meaningless. It does mean you get to learn more about other worlds and people.

Quite true, but I am always willing to learn about other people. I am, as the youth say, down to clown.

Amusingly, I don't think I've ever heard anything like that before. I can somewhat get the gist of it from context, though.

In Remnant, are humans the only beings with sentience?

There are animals in our world as well as humans.

Are they on an equal standing with humans?

I have heard that the moths humans are familiar with are tiny and do not speak, in most cases.

They do not speak, no. Some are kept as pets or companions, though. I've seen a few even trained in battle techniques similar to human Huntsmen and Huntresses.

We do that as well, with bugs who are sentient but not sapient. Many hunters enjoy training beasts to hunt along with them.

[There are those who have trained even infected beasts, a feat worthy of recognition. If only because he enjoys anything that might annoy the Radiance.]

So the majority population of your world are bugs?

The vast majority. We have the occasional arachnid as well.

What a fascinating difference. I've seen mostly other humans from other worlds here.

As have I, or at least they appear closer to human than insect.

I wonder what causes this disparity in race.

I imagine most planets are more suited to human growth, but that's only a guess.

Are you familiar with the makeup of most planets in the infinite universe?

Not at all. Like I said, just a guess, from what I've seen here.

Then again I've also only been here for two weeks.

That is good to hear. I know not all are used to traveling as frequently and suddenly as I.

Have you been to other worlds before?

[hagrides]

Not as such. But I have been summoned to distant kingdoms on the same world.

How does it compare? Being in a new world versus traveling to other kingdoms?
