(( OOC: Hello! If you hate quirk for Homestuck, you're not alone. Please let me know here, this goes for his lack of punctuation, too.))

[ Why Daisy? We don't know.
But she asks for a song that is...whatever it is, here. ]

I'm learning names on the fly. Uneducated guess.
[[Why not Daisy? When the bird starts to sing the song, Dave is finally quiet. He likes music and he likes listening to it instead of talking through it, for the most part. In fact the knight is quiet the entire time the song is on and only shifts to get comfortable while listening to it, needing to push his dark sun glasses back on the bridge of his nose.
When it's over he nods his head.]]
Damn man, that's not the bass I was expecting but Christ if I don't love it anyway. That guitar was fuckin' crazy.

[ Since her username is "crescentrose" that wasn't really obvious. ]

Dave.
[[He replies simply.]]
Ruby's a nice name. Is it a life style too?
[[Says the guy who types in red.]]
no subject
[ OBVIOUSLY. ]
no subject
[[When she says red is her favourite. Gripping a small pinch of the outfit he's in, he pulls softly at the red fabric, mostly right over the cog on his chest.]]
You're among friends. Best colour and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
no subject
I mean, people could say otherwise! But they'd be wrong. Oh, hey - my entire name is red, actually? Ruby Rose.
no subject
They'd be dead fuckin' wrong. It's a damn good colour.
[[His eyebrow lifts from behind his glasses.]]
Holy shit. Alright, you got me on that one at least. I can't say any of my names are red related.
Is this all coincidence? Fate? Coincifate? Both. All three.
I've never been in a place where people like red as much as this.
no subject
[ That's how that works, right. ]
...Also, why would people not like red?
no subject
That's not a bad idea, I could handle having two middle names. Or just dropping one and going with a red name. Don't think t hey have birth certificates on this planet.
[[Another shrug.]]
There's a lot of redcists out there.
no subject
[ Because she loves her color-coded friends. ]
no subject
Damn, well as long as red's the best. I guess the rainbow isn't so bad. Got a whole society of aliens back home who might or might not agree with you but I think that's cool. Right down to the black spectrum. Red and black aren't so bad either. Then 'gain red and yellow isn't so bad. Or red and blue.
no subject
[ You might have to run that one by her again, Dave. ]
no subject
Something about it in their society they don't like 'cause it ain't their norm. It's stupid. They've got this whole system worked out on colour coding and if you don't fall in those lines you're not part of their shitty cool kid club. I think it's dumb but it's not my society. If it was I'd probably have fucked it up worse trying to fix it.

Okay it's not so bad.

I mean that's basically a job here isn't it? They expect us to generate Chroma. Plus cake sounds like a damn good reason to give a guy a hug you know? If that were the way back home I'd think about it.

no subject
[[He pauses in momentary thought.]]
It depends on what kind of cake and it depends on what kind of person.
If some like ninety year old man comes up to me and a says "Would you like some cake little boy" I'm pretty much guaranteed to do a background check before I say yes.

[[That is an entirely different story.
It's hard to parse out how friendly people are here even if it's what they have to do to survive it still doesn't hit him.]]
Well shit yeah.
I'm not a shady guy so I'd say you're safe. I could go for helping a nice girl get an equally nice cake. Especially since we're red buddies.
I don't know the grading scale but I can forewarn you I don't hug people often. I'm not a huggisseur if you will.

[ She's...very friendly, in the cheerful protagonist sense. ]
