[ And thus, Konoka tears straight for Inaba's apartment. Her first check to see if Inaba was still okay was to give a rather urgent knocking to her door. ]

[ Thankfully, she does have enough energy to open the door, even if she's looking pretty weak and drained. ]

Hey!

[ With zero preamble, Konoka plastered Inaba with a hug. She wouldn't let go until she felt the hum of Chroma... and probably wouldn't let go even then. ]

Geez, you're already lethargic! And dangerously close to crystalizing!

Ah--

[ Her eyes shoot open at the hug, raising her arms a little pathetically but she's not exactly going to stop Konoka. ]

Well, at least I haven't become crystal yet.

Let's not get anywhere close. I've been there before and it sucks.

[ Satisfied that Inaba wouldn't run off, Konoka releases the hug, only to take her gently by the shoulders and steer her to the nearest couch. Once there, she'd resume a hug... from the side this time. ]

And on the other side, Chroma like this feels lovely!

Sounds like it does.

[ Her voice is a little soft; in that sort of way that practically screams that there's pity there. ]

It does feel nice, but. . .

[ She trails off, a little awkwardly. ]

[ Without letting go, Konoka looks up. ]

It's just. . . the fact that chroma feels nice is sometimes a little -- it just. It feels wrong.

[ Konoka looked up at Inaba for a moment, still locked in her hug. ]

Hmmm. I think I talked about this with someone before. I mean, not the exact thing, but something similar.

[ Akechi had been thinking about the loss of moonlacing to the people. Konoka had actually been worried then about how moonlacing might have had more sinister aims. Fortunately, that hadn't borne any fruit.

It did get her thinking about something that happened to her back at home. ]

Are you afraid that it's too good to be true?

[dereban]

[ Inaba nods her head in response to her question. ]

It's kind of like. . . how people get addicted, you know? Like what happens to someone who goes home and remembers all of this and realizes that - hey, you can't do this kind of shit anymore?

Wouldn't that be bad for some people?

[ That was actually a little different than she expected. Inaba probably felt like there had to be a drawback somewhere. This was basically the human mind at work. And it was the reason why that Cosmo Entelechiea was not as effective as Fate dreamed of. ]

To be honest, I don't know. Though if it were addicting, I imagine it would be affecting more of us right now, not just when we go home.

[ Konoka wondered if that also meant herself, but... ]

I feel like we need this to live regardless, so the only thing I can think of is to cross that bridge once we get to it.

Maybe, but it's the kind of thing that could potentially change a person's mindset, you know? It's like. . . [ She hesitates, just a little bit. ] . . . normalizing physical affection, I guess?

[ Konoka's first instinct is to wonder what's wrong with changing a mind, but the emphasis made it not sound like the normal way it was done. Outside influence seemed to be a sticking point with her. Was there something more...? Konoka wouldn't ask without elaboration, though. ]

Mmmmm.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't find anything wrong with having more physical touch. Even without the moonlacing aspect, I feel like people could get along a little better if they could 'hug and make up' more easily, without being seen as weak or lesser.

I personally don't think the world -- well, specifically my world works that way. And there's plenty of people who have issues with physical touch. And there's obviously things that can't be forgiven.

Well... maybe.

[ Konoka's brow furrowed. She didn't have easy answers beyond this point. Maybe Inaba hadn't been expecting them.

She did think closer on people who would be wary and perhaps even hurt by physical touch--Yuri and Ouse for one and two--and that was before she thought of the more mundane and much darker applications. ]

I guess I see where you're coming from.

. . . Sorry, I didn't really mean to get all philosophical on you. It's just something that I've been thinking for a while now.

[ She definitely does sound apologetic, but it's true that she wasn't really expecting any answers at all, really. ]

[ Konoka wonders if she'll ever come up with any answers. Not just for Inaba's sake, though that would be lovely, but herself too. Maybe she shouldn't think too hard on that. ]
