Hello Everyone!

Some of you know me but for those who don't it's a pleasure to meet you! I'm Rise Kujikawa.

In light of recent events and everything that went down on Iris, I have a request to make. If things like that are going to keep happening, I can't rely on everyone else to protect me. I want to learn how to defend myself. I don't know what kind of fighting I'd even be good at or what would work for me, so I'm willing to try whatever you want to teach me!

For reference, I'm a very petite girl. I have dancing experience but no real strength.

I'm willing to pay for lessons in chroma! Or helping out at your business if you have one. Reply here or directly message me!

I really don't know the answer to that! I have magic in the form of a persona, from home, but I'm limited to what she can do- which is mostly like, divination kind of stuff. I don't know if it's possible for her to learn knew tricks or anything like that.

How did you learn?

When I was old enough, I was sent to a school specializing in mage training, but before that?

My mother taught me.

Would you be willing to try teaching me?

I could certainly try. You seem more suited to the life of a bard than the world I know, which is a life of study and dusty tomes.

But the basics of channeling magic through yourself are much the same.

I'm not very good at sitting still for long periods of time... I get really bored.

I'm motivated to being able to defend myself, though!

We could, then, perhaps see if you're better off learning magic the way my brother had.

How did he learn?

As far as I remember, he taught himself. Our mother tried to teach him the basics of magic the same way she had for me, but she died when he was seven.

So he knew a few basic cantrips and how to channel magical energy by the time she had passed, but not much else. And he was never one for books like I was.

But from a young age he had some talent and interest in the lute and viol; he was a fantastic dancer and... well, he was certainly more of a poet than I ever was. It's expected for a young man of his station to have some accomplishments, so he was given the lessons needed to develop these talents.

And he wove his spells into his art.

If you have any talent for performance or other artistic skills, you can do the same.

Ohhh, that does sound a bit more my speed. I can sit down and study if I have to, but I get more enthusiastic about music and performing than I do about books.

Such is the way of a bard. I could arrange to meet you at some point, but I'd love to ask: has anyone else been kind enough to offer?

I'm not entirely familiar with all of the spells my brother had at his disposal, but there was some overlap.

I have had a few very generous offers, yes! I appreciate the interest, even if you'd rather leave it up to someone else to teach beginner me.

Oh no, I can certainly still try to teach you a few spells.

They're not going to be the most flashy, but you do have to grasp the fundamentals first.

As much as I appreciate flashy, I'm just trying to find a way to not get hurt as easily.
