Hello Everyone!

Some of you know me but for those who don't it's a pleasure to meet you! I'm Rise Kujikawa.

In light of recent events and everything that went down on Iris, I have a request to make. If things like that are going to keep happening, I can't rely on everyone else to protect me. I want to learn how to defend myself. I don't know what kind of fighting I'd even be good at or what would work for me, so I'm willing to try whatever you want to teach me!

For reference, I'm a very petite girl. I have dancing experience but no real strength.

I'm willing to pay for lessons in chroma! Or helping out at your business if you have one. Reply here or directly message me!

I haven't considered ANY kind of fighting until now.

I'm not against it but I seriously doubt I could hurt someone with my fists.

Have you considered punching things? I've found that to be pretty effective, for the most part.

Do we properly know whether or not it's possible to teach magical knowledge here?

My brother has a physique and skill set similar to yours - well, alright, he's dabbled a bit in fencing, but he's far from an impressive swordsman.

We were both, however, magically gifted. I take a different approach myself, but you seem a good candidate for learning the bardic traditions.

I really don't know the answer to that! I have magic in the form of a persona, from home, but I'm limited to what she can do- which is mostly like, divination kind of stuff. I don't know if it's possible for her to learn knew tricks or anything like that.

I've been informed by Weiss that we can unlock Auras in people not from Remnant. It would give you a little extra protection at the very least.

As for fighting, I could probably get you started, but if you want better hand to hand, you should talk to Yang or her father Tai.

I've learned how to fight with a staff. Most of what I do is pretty acrobatic, so you might take to it because of your dancing.

At the very least, there's the basic hit-a-guy-in-the-balls self-defense.

Yeah, and don't get me wrong I would totally do that. It's just that some of the things I've had to fight don't have balls to kick? So that rules that out.

Staff might be cool. Does that require a lot of like, arm strength?

Yeah, sorta. I can summon something called a persona, and she can use magic... but nothing that really attacks things or can protect me.

training your aura will help out with physical strength. experience in dance can be advantageous in sword work. that said, taiyang is an excellent hand-to-hand instructor and ren ain't half bad himself in combat, so you're off to a good start already.

Swords sound really cool, but I'll be honest they look really heavy.

Well, I've never really taught anyone before, but I know some different styles of martial arts, so I'd be happy to help out.

All the great martial artists coming out of the woodwork! It's really sweet of you to offer! What do you recommend for total newbies?

Duelling is a form of dancing. I can teach you, for a price.

I suppose it is, but dueling can mean a lot of different things...

NGL, that sounds kind of ominous.

You've got a lot of offers for hand to hand stuff, which is good
I can teach you to shoot a gun too, if you don't know how and want to learn
There's a lot of practice involved to get good at it, but you don't need to be swol or anything for it, if that's what you're worried about

Guns are kinda scary...

but a ranged weapon might be a good option for me, since I usually hang back from the action anyway
