Please forgive my curiosity, but I have heard about 'the season' and 'Halloween' a few times over the network, and since neither the time seems relevant to where I come from, nor the name familiar - would anyone care to explain what these two are about?

And we have... a couple of festivals that are focused on the ancestors who have died, but none of them is nearly as extensive as to last a whole month.
