This is The Knight.

I wish to talk about families.

What is your family like? Do you have siblings? I have many siblings. More siblings than there are moonblessed. One of them is here with me. They are also a knight. They were one long before I was, and they are very good at it.

I have a child. They were not born by mating, as humans do, but by a dance with myself and my friend Grimm. It was part of an important ritual.

My Father is a King. My Mother is a Tree. Also a Queen.

That is all of my family. Please tell me about yours.

I got my mother, father, my sister Evie... and she had her own child a couple years ago. Quiet little string bean named Gordon.

New parent, then... I hear that's real tough.

Yep. We used to be like cats and dogs when we were real little, but we learned to like each other. I'm seven years older. Little sisters get away with a lot from the perspective of a dumb adolescent boy.

Hornet and I have fought, but it was mostly so she could test me. She was very determined to make me prove myself.

She has always been a fierce fighter.

Evie just liked to make trouble for fun. Hornet don't sound so bad.

No, but she did come flying into a fight once and stick her needle into our sibling's face.
