This is The Knight.

I wish to talk about families.

What is your family like? Do you have siblings? I have many siblings. More siblings than there are moonblessed. One of them is here with me. They are also a knight. They were one long before I was, and they are very good at it.

I have a child. They were not born by mating, as humans do, but by a dance with myself and my friend Grimm. It was part of an important ritual.

My Father is a King. My Mother is a Tree. Also a Queen.

That is all of my family. Please tell me about yours.

Yes, interesting, for sure. And large, too! Bigger than mine, certainly.

Yes. Most humans find us strange.

I believe we were unique among bugs as well. But that was perhaps inevitable.

My brother and I were unique among men, also. What, pray tell, makes you and yours stand out among your bugs?

Father, mostly.

He was called a Wyrm, before becoming the Pale King. They are... described as like Gods.

[ Wow, it was the two things Ardyn hated most! Wyrms, or dragons, and gods! Unbelievable.

It made it easier to be anonymous, however.]

So... you're the child of a god? Who was once a wyrm? That certainly blows most human families out of the water in how interesting yours is!

We were born of Void and God. To seal Her Light and protect Hallownest.

We succeeded. But later than Father had hoped. And I do not think by the method he intended. I do not think he intended to die either.
