Hello.

This is The Knight.

I wish to talk about families.

What is your family like? Do you have siblings? I have many siblings. More siblings than there are moonblessed. One of them is here with me. They are also a knight. They were one long before I was, and they are very good at it.

I have a child. They were not born by mating, as humans do, but by a dance with myself and my friend Grimm. It was part of an important ritual.

My Father is a King. My Mother is a Tree. Also a Queen.

That is all of my family. Please tell me about yours.

I'm an only child, so I don't have any siblings, but I have some cousins. My mother has a younger sister, and she had two kids. I didn't see them too often, but they're pretty cool.

My dad's an only child too. He's a warrior who helps protect people. I look up to him a lot.

Your father is a knight? That is very impressive.

I guess you could say he's a knight. They're called Sentinels back home, and they protect people from danger. My dad is really strong too, so he's one of the best.

They sound like knights. Perhaps it is just a matter of where you are from.

Are you going to be one as well?

I guess that's true. They're kind of like modern-day knights.

I've thought about it. When I was younger, I really wanted to be one.

You do not as much anymore?

Well...maybe. I'm not sure. Part of me still kind of wants to, but I recently left home to see what else is out there for me.

To be honest, I was still looking before I came here. I actually had only been away from home a couple of months before I arrived in this place.

Just a few months. Two I think?

That is very short. It is not surprising you have not found anything yet.

Yeah, I'm definitely still working on it. Especially since it took my dad a few years for him to figure out what he wanted to do.

I knew as soon as I understood what a knight was. Perhaps you should do something similar. Look at the ideas you've had, see what they would require of you. What you would become pursuing them.

Oh, that's a good idea. Figure out what I would have to put in and what I would get out of it. I'll give it a try, thanks!
