Out of curiosity, how many of you are looking for moonlacing partners? I mean, you could probably just ask a friend or something, but for the more available, what do you have to offer that makes you stand out from the others who are looking for partners?

Show a picture of yourself and what you're looking for. I'll provide a sample.

NAME Reyvenne
AGE 53
LOOKING FOR I need a lot of money. A LOT. I'm a bandit but I don't want to live a life of crime here so I'm going to need to moonlace with at least 30 people a month.
OFFERING What. You don't think I'm hot?

((Feel free to advertise your chars or someone else!! Here's the code:

It was a very safe place, during a time when I had few of those. Even if that place doesn't exist anymore, I'll remember it fondly for at least that.

Would you mind experimenting that?
hymnals: you burn fire in my dreams (you lay stones at my feet)

Safety is definitely my intention.

Not at all.

Great! Does the medium have to be ink?
hymnals: that whole defense (done pleading ignorance)

[personal profile] hymnals 2019-04-15 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Yes; that's part of the process. I mill herbs and flowers into pigments, and then I imbue the pigments with words of power. Herbs from Azeroth usually have their own special properties, too: that's why I'm not sure what, if anything, I'll be able to create from the flora here.

Though I'm sure I can make it look good

:)
sealeted: (your gentle winding mind)

[personal profile] sealeted 2019-04-15 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry, I was a bit too vague in my question! I meant, does it have to be a WET medium? Could you work that pigment into something like, say... wax? I don't know if your word has anything like crayons or pastels, but that's the sort of medium I mean.
hymnals: ol billy was right. let's kill all the lawyers; kill'em tonight (the more i think about it)

[personal profile] hymnals 2019-04-15 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm

I usually use pots of ink and quills, but if you have the means to do otherwise, it might be possible.
sealeted: (I'll be the earth)

[personal profile] sealeted 2019-04-15 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
I was thinking it might be something exciting for the daycare class I teach to try, but quills and ink would probably be a disaster in those tiny hands. I can look around for make-your-own crayon kits or something, and maybe we could see if anything there would suit your abilities?
hymnals: and every flower came floating right back to me. (you threw flowers into the sea)

[personal profile] hymnals 2019-04-15 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, you teach children! I should have guessed

If I can mill and imbue the pigment, I suppose the medium wouldn't matter much. Just never tried it
sealeted: (I'll only want you more)

[personal profile] sealeted 2019-04-15 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Do I give off that impression?

Well, you have plenty of time to try now! If it isn't an imposition, I mean.
hymnals: you burn fire in my dreams (you lay stones at my feet)

[personal profile] hymnals 2019-04-15 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
You do have a caretaker's way about you

But also

Crayons

It's no imposition, though. Nothing but time in this place

I didn't know if that was a universal constant!

Time and a lot of leisure activities. Apparently there's monthly field trips for the kids!
hymnals: only wanna know bout love (don't wanna know bout evil)

That sounds great

I have a son of my own, you know
sealeted: (you haven't found)

[personal profile] sealeted 2019-04-15 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Really? I never would have guessed!

Though, I'm not one to talk, I suppose. Most people are pretty surprised when I mention my own daughter.
hymnals: and i don't want to fight needlessly (i didn't come looking for trouble)

[personal profile] hymnals 2019-04-15 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
You do seem a little young for a daughter

But honestly I'm not very good at discerning human ages
sealeted: (then ask you to stand)

[personal profile] sealeted 2019-04-15 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
['A little young' is more true than he knows. So, so much more true.]

Well, various things happened and I more or less adopted her. Age is a tricky thing to figure out at a glance for most of the people I know back home, really. I'm not too surprised that you're older than I'd be likely to guess.
hymnals: you burn fire in my dreams (you lay stones at my feet)

[personal profile] hymnals 2019-04-20 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, my son is adopted as well. Also due to various things.

My people's physical aging slows down considerably after we reach our twentieth year. I'm always gonna be a lot older than I look.

Are you saying it's similar for you?
sealeted: (you know you're just like me)

[personal profile] sealeted 2019-04-20 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Not for me exactly. A lot of the people around me were beings called "Servants," magically summoned to life from legends or history, usually at the prime of their lives.
hymnals: hard for me to use my eyes (it gets so hard to listen)

[personal profile] hymnals 2019-04-23 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[THAT'S NEW ...]

Servants? What do you mean? Who do they serve?
sealeted: (does she wear black?)

[personal profile] sealeted 2019-04-24 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
The 'Masters' that Summon them, during a Holy Grail War. I'm. the only Master left in the Moon Cell, so I suppose they all serve me when it isn't embroiled with inter-Servant conflict.
hymnals: or did i believe this dream (did i dream this belief)

[personal profile] hymnals 2019-04-24 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
[there's a lot to parse in this response, but he's just gonna go for the question that matters the most to him, personally.]

Do they serve because they want to, or because they have to?
sealeted: (gonna toss you around)

[personal profile] sealeted 2019-04-24 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
It's complicated. As collateral for all the energy the Master puts into the summoning, they get three unbreakable 'Command Seals'. When all those are spent, in my War at least, the Master would die. Certainly, it's not impossible for a Servant to reject their Master before those even come into play, though; I know a girl back home who became bored with and slaughtered her Master early on. It's not slavery, if that's what you mean. From a certain perspective, a Servant is a Heroic Spirit only is recorded and exists to be summoned back from the dead or dreams of the past, in a normal Holy Grail War.

I'd recommend talking. to one of the ones here and getting their stance on the matter, myself.
hymnals: ol billy was right. let's kill all the lawyers; kill'em tonight (the more i think about it)

[personal profile] hymnals 2019-04-24 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm. That does sound complex ...

How many such Servants are here?
sealeted: (does she wear black?)

[personal profile] sealeted 2019-04-24 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
At least four or five.
hymnals: another one of your plays (what if i say i'm not just)

[personal profile] hymnals 2019-04-24 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Any particular one you recommend talking to?
sealeted: (is the view)

[personal profile] sealeted 2019-04-24 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
Sir Gawain, I suppose.
