Out of curiosity, how many of you are looking for moonlacing partners? I mean, you could probably just ask a friend or something, but for the more available, what do you have to offer that makes you stand out from the others who are looking for partners?

[ A soft snort escapes her as he says that, and she lifts her head, looking up into those green eyes she seems to never be able to forget when she looks away. She may have had to be with plenty of others for quota, she may have had to look into many beautiful eyes to keep things going- and she won't lie, she's liked them all.

But his eyes, after the ones she misses, stand out so brightly.

Which is why, when he's done, she simply- moves in. As though to shut him up, lips pressed against his, fitting so gently and easily it's almost as though he'd parted them to welcome her. Her hand lifts, palm pressing over the side of his neck, under his jaw, and she pulls his head in close to deepen it before she's left him breathless-

and she slowly draws back, pushing her forehead against his. ]

Don't make excuses for it, idiot. I can't explain it, and neither can you. I just know whatever this feeling is, it's there, and I like it. And I want to like it because it's with you.

[ Whatever excuse and reasoning he gives it, that's going to be why she keeps trying to make him see he's worth it.

It's because in the end, she isn't of any worth to any of them. But everyone around her is. For that reason alone, she'll make herself worth something to herself, so she can stand proudly to look after them. ]

as for a move to shut him up? incredibly effective. and it certainly left him breathless when she pulls back. he stares at her, slack-jawed. they're not... in Duplicity anymore. why is she... doing that...

something was said before about her husband and an agreement, yes, but he's lost all his reasoning and excuses.

his brain seems to start working again once she starts talking about this big, warm heart and how he loves openly. what? what? she can't be talking about him. love isn't in his cards. doing anything openly, definitely not! that's her. that's all her. that's not him.

What she continues to feel, even if he's an insufferable wanker who just doesn't know when to simply accept that there may be someone in this world they don't belong to- maybe plenty of someones, who might think of him as better than he thinks of himself.

There's a flick of her ears before she pulls back and- when she does, she's holding the picture he snatched from her. ]

[ That's not why she kissed him, he knows that, even if she's making it look like it, but that's her, isn't it? With a grin, she easily slips off him, and makes an easy jump down to the grass below, landing like she didn't just jump off a high tree branch. With a tap of the picture to her lips, she grins up at him. ]

[ Just take it easy, don't scare him off.

He'll always deserve better than her, but maybe, just for a little while, she wants to feel like she is the better option to someone who feels far beyond her reach.
