Good afternoon Lunatia!

I'm Larry; Larry Laffer. I'm kind of new around here. It's nice to meet you all!

Now that Halloween/Geistnacht festivities are wrapping up, we're headed into November, or what we just call "the eleventh month" around here, I guess. Anyway, where I come from, there's a holiday called Thanksgiving that falls on the fourth Thursday of the month. It is what it says on the tin: a harvest holiday to give thanks for the previous year's crop. You celebrate it by hanging out with your family and loved ones, eat a gratuitous amount of seasonally appropriate food and drink, and watch sports on television together.

I'd like to host something like that here, if anyone would be interested. I know some of us might be missing our families from back home, but that doesn't mean we can't celebrate the friends and lovers that we've made here! Bring all the food and/or booze your heart desires, but as the host it's my responsibility to make the bird. (Whatever is the closest I can find to a turkey around here.)

On an absolutely related note, I could use someone on consult that knows how to cook.

This is meant to be an "open to all ages" kind of thing, but I was thinking that we could also have a post-dessert dessert of an orgy for those who qualify. That's not part of the tradition, but that doesn't mean we can't make it ours. I just figured that maybe everyone would like to leave the party topped off with turkey and Chroma for their holiday shopping. No pressure or anything, though!

The issue is how, not what.

How would you rather me do it then? Hand-written invitations? Carrier pigeons?

More subtle. Less blatant. You need to see if there is even an interest first, and then ask in a way that doesn't sound like a bad porn plot. You kind find people who are interested and be more tasteful.

Is this not the definition of a poll of interest? I asked for RSVP, not regrets only.

Look, I get it. Some people like the chase in beating around the bush. All the more power to them! I'm more of a get-directly-to-the-bush kind of guy.

I can respect your desire to be straightforward at least. I know someone who would have been much worse about these matters.

Really? You kinda made it sound like this is the worst thing you've ever seen.

Perhaps you are reading the locals, but the network seems a bit different and primarily those who came from elsewhere.

Oh I still think it's too much and in bad taste. But my classmate Hanamura san has definitely done worse. If you dont watch him he'll harass all the girls and guys of his type.

Yeah, and the locals rely on those of us who came from elsewhere to keep their planet spinning. Just doing my part with an open invitation.

Making inappropriate sexual comments unprompted, unwanted advances, touching, open ended unwanted invitations at inappropriate times, trying to get a princess to touch him by misleading her into what it was he wanted her to do, and poisoning the entire class with aphrodisiac that caused an issue and several people going to the nurse.

[Okay, total honesty here: Larry starts off the beginning of this list with rolling his eyes. But by the end, though, he's grimacing.]

...And he's not in jail because...?

To be fair, the aphrodisiac was an accident, and, I suppose to be expected of Hope's Peak Academy students.

Since generally we would just ignore him or tie him up when he was being especially bad, I think no one thought too much about it?

He is also an amazing cook. So perhaps his good and bad balance out?

[He was totally stretching that.]

And you're sure that tying him up was a punishment and not a reward?

[It was his classmate, and they were amazing and talented! So it was only natural.]

Oh, I think he liked it, it was less about punishing so much as restricting. And I'm sure he didn't actually like when he would be left behind.

Generally, he wasn't so bad, and, well, you can't say much against those with Talent. Someone like me would never be able to understand those that give the world Hope.

What?

Talent. Talented people. The elite of the elite!

So you're saying he gets away with this stuff just because he's talented?

I should pick up an instrument again.

I suppose.

And it has to be a Talent, not just some skill. You have to be the best of the best! In fact, our entire school was full of those with such amazing talents. Well, except me, my talent is really terrible and not worth being in the same room as others.

Boy, you're really drinking that wunderkind Kool-Aid, huh?

Eh? That's just how the world is.

Until the world as we knew it ended.

That still doesn't change how amazing talent is though!
