[The transmission is technically a video - though throughout it all the screen remains unevenly black and rough-textured, as if a piece of fabric had been tossed across the lens of the camera. The voice that speaks is recognizably Daisy Tonner's, though there's a faint burr and growl to it, as if it had been run through a sound modifying program. Or something.]

All right. Suppose anyone with an opinion can chime in, but this is mostly for the Sanguis lot. Or anyone else who gets . . . like that. Bloodthirsty.

[It's such a crawlingly, hideously personal thing to ask. But if there was ever a place she might find people who could come close to understanding her own situation, this might be it. And she has to try.]

How do you get through it?

[That sounds . . . uncomfortably close to her own experience, and Daisy can feel those prickles spreading further and further down her neck, her ears listing back in the reflex anger of anyone knowing her like that.]

Speaking from experience?

[She keeps her voice light, all the same, steady.]

[ Ardyn's smile, sharp and bitter as a knife scraping frost from a window, was not audible in his voice, which still dripped with that Dragon-altered aura. ]

[Down, she told herself sternly. Down. Not everyone with an ounce of charisma who was a little too on the nose was some kind of manipulative psychic monster. ]

You'll need need to give me some specifics, mister-?

[profanation]

Izunia. [ He supplied, prompt and unguarded. ] Ardyn Izunia.

What sort of specifics were you after, Ms...?

Daisy's fine. Daisy Tonner.

[She takes a soft but audible breath, composing herself again, settling the remainder of the way.]

Specifics as to goals. Promises. I'm not much one for higher powers, so that's right out.

[profanation]

No higher powers? Probably for the best. They're not much in the first place, once you get to know them. [ Who, him? Bitter? At least he sounded amused by the idea. ]

My personal ambitions likely won't give you the same drive to better yourself than bestial instincts, but surely you have your own set?
