[The transmission is technically a video - though throughout it all the screen remains unevenly black and rough-textured, as if a piece of fabric had been tossed across the lens of the camera. The voice that speaks is recognizably Daisy Tonner's, though there's a faint burr and growl to it, as if it had been run through a sound modifying program. Or something.]
All right. Suppose anyone with an opinion can chime in, but this is mostly for the Sanguis lot. Or anyone else who gets . . . like that. Bloodthirsty.
[It's such a crawlingly, hideously personal thing to ask. But if there was ever a place she might find people who could come close to understanding her own situation, this might be it. And she has to try.]
How do you get through it?

I had one particularly close call because I could not ignore my need to fight. I would have died if I did not have someone to help after. I am sorry that you are Sanguis, but the only other advice I have is that you stay away from others like us. Fighting and confrontation is nearly unavoidable when both sides are itching for a fight.

[Maybe not here, exactly, but she did know that around hunters in opposition to her, it was almost impossible to resist the pull to chase. Not that she'd tried very hard.]
What is is you do, then? Just stay in your flat until the moon passes?

I have been going about my life as usual, hence all the bar fights, and having my chest nearly sliced open.

He sounded like he was smiling. ]
Self-control, mostly, but when one is goaded... well, it helps to know there's something else that could make some Sanguis fall out a little bit... dicey.

Something else?

[ He grinned. ]
Or something that you've promised not to loose. Those who practice temperance can find it does wonders for keeping themselves to themselves.

Speaking from experience?

I signed up for a lot of fights at Buwan's Stop back when I first got here. It ain't... ideal, but sanctioned fights was better than pickin' 'em on the street. Which... I also did, the first time around.
[He doesn't sound to proud of it.]
Couple months in, though, I got a punching bag. Granted, the whole "super strength" thing means you might go through... a couple of 'em.
Other than that, I've been tryin' to work on my self control. And some months aren't as "bloodthirsty" as others. But I reckon know better than anyone right now that's easier said than done.

It is. But you can do it if you want to.
[And that's been her mantra through all of this, hasn't it. It's something she can do - that she can not do - if she wants that badly enough. And she does want it, very badly.]
Punching bag's not a bad idea. Punching something does sound very good right now.

[Engie chuckles.]
Try and get the extra tough ones. Or at least somethin' fireproof, if the fire magic's a thing for you too.

You, the trouble sort? Couldn't have guessed.

Yeah and I'm sure you always color safely within the lines. You have that air about you.

Just having someone I like around can help a lot, now that I'm thinking of it. S'calming.

[Now that she thinks of it, most things fear-adjacent tend to do poorly when there's welcome company around like that.]

When that happens, I'm lucky enough that I found people from my world. They'd know what they'd be getting into if we spar... and sometimes I really can't help myself.
[ Bloodbending is not something she's fond of, but she's felt the edge a few times... had the nightmares. Not gonna mention that casually, though. ]
Honestly, though, you might be surprised. Even people with... unique power sets can usually find their match in a group this big and varied, if that's what you're worried about?
no subject
Good to know. But if I start, I don't know if I'll be able to stop again.

[ She considers it for a moment. ]
If it isn't too personal, what kind of powers do you have? I've met a lot of people by now-- [ Between traveling to three different worlds and all. ] --maybe I know someone I could recommend. Or there may be someone that could help you keep it under control, instead. [ She'd consider offering if she weren't also Sanguis. ]
