[Now that everyone is safely back from the Spirit world and Yang's gotten her latest Sanguis cycle over with, there's something she needs to do. Even if she's more conflicted about it than she's willing to admit, putting it off any longer just risks placing the people she cares about the most in danger.

Calling a meeting for this seems unnecessary and making a video post feels weird so instead she just sends a written message out to her friends and their allies through the network.]

Vernal wasn't the Spring Maiden. Raven Branwen is.

I don't want anybody to get hurt so please. Be careful around her. I'm sorry I didn't tell you guys sooner.

Actually this was her idea.

She just gave me the choice of telling everyone myself or waiting until Mercury Black did.

listen, you were under no obligation to tell anyone. it was big of you to do that to protect your friends.

raven should have outed herself years ago and she's still too much of a coward to do it right.

I guess. But I wasn't obligated to keep it from everybody either. Raven never asked me or forced me to do that. I did that on my own.

[There's a lot to blame Raven for here, but Yang wants to make sure she takes responsibility for her own choices if nothing else.]

We already agreed that we both want to be left alone back when I saw her... But if that ever changes, I promise I'll be careful around her. And it's fine that you didn't tell sooner.

[It takes Yang some time to figure out what she wants to say in response. The fact that Raven's spoken to Blake shouldn't be surprising to her but it's still terrifying in its own way.

Raven's killed people. Probably lots of people. And while her mother has never gone completely out of her way to hurt her friends, she's certainly never lifted a finger to help them either. She's 100% sure Raven would have let her walk right back out of that camp without ever knowing Weiss was less than 20 feet away from her in a cage and she obviously had no problems setting them up against Cinder and her associates.

Perhaps the really scary thing is simply that she just doesn't know what her mother might do at any given time.

After another moment, she finally responds.]

Thanks. I don't think I'd ever forgive her or myself if she hurt you.

[Yang won't be hard to find. She's in her room, sitting on the edge of her bed and looking all kinds of conflicted.]

[ Hey you know what? That sounds really familiar... Well, except the not going completely out of one's way to hurt... Blake would totally agree on the walking out of the camp thing, good to know that things didn't go that way. ]

I know. Let's try to avoid that from happening.

[ Never say never, hell if she knows what Raven is thinking or going to do either. ... But that line sounds extremely familiar too, ahahahah. So, reverse situation now but at least this time they know about it now and not ... after everything happens.

Blake arrives there to sit next to her, doesn't say anything and just hugs.]

[Yang doesn't look up at her right away when Blake arrives, instead staring at her lap but unable to resist casting a few brief furtive glances at her partner from under her bangs.

It's the hug that breaks her.

A ragged exhale tears its way out of her, her entire body slumping heavily towards Blake before she wraps her arms around her in return. Burying her face into her shoulder, her entire body hitches with each breath as she starts to sob quietly.]

Raven is one of the maidens? [How was that even, how long had it been that way?]

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but it's still hard to believe. But I don't think she's going to be a threat to anyone here.

She is. I saw her open the vault at Haven.

I wish I could say I had that same confidence in her.

[She just...does not trust anything about Raven anymore, least of all whether or not she'll hurt the people around her.]

I know that you relationship with your mother is . . . complicated. And she hasn't always shown to have other's best interest in mind. But I don't think there will be a problem, and if there is, then I'll step in and help to handle it.

But I believe that any misunderstandings can be handled by just talking to her.

[Perhaps a part of it is her innate stubborness but Yang's never been Ruby when it comes to forgiveness and understanding. You can only kick her so many times before she decides you're a lost cause. No, so far as she's concerned, if Raven wants to talk things out with her, then her mother is going to have to try to make it up to her. She's yet to prove herself.]

The only good thing she ever did was leave me with you.
