i hate that it's come to this but i need some advice on something
and due to the nature of the question i'd prefer to get a few perspectives rather than just one or two people

maybe someone else here has gone through the same thing

say that you and another person have known each other for a long, long time
but you were apart for awhile
and now you're both pretty different

how do you see someone as the person they are now?
how do you make them see you as the person you are now?

i guess it depends how close you were before
if you were friends it shouldn't be that hard to get along again, right?

i always wanted to be near them

but it's not that we don't get along well still
it's that i think we get along because i'm seen as who i was then

it's hard sometimes to not hold on to your memories of someone
how they used to be
i'm not very good at it
but if you're that close you should just talk to them
they might surprise you

well, people change though, that's just life
if they still like you then i don't think it matters
they want you around
that has to count for something

it can't count if someone likes you because of how they remember you were

look, i know saying to talk to them sounds lame
and isn't easy to just do
but this seems like a problem with a solution
and not a whole lot of people get those kinds

it sounds like that's the most obvious answer

but it seems like there should be more than that

you can't know if you need to do more if you don't ask
have to take that first step then figure it out from there
