[Good morning Lunatia. It's one of your resident sword spirits turned not quite human gracing the screen. In hand, he holds what appears to be an egg. A very ethereal, very shiny, beautifully grey egg.]
I seem to have laid an egg. With all the other changes and strange things that happen to our bodies here I suppose it really was only a matter of time until something like this were to happen.
Now the only question is what to do with it. You see I don't have much experience with taking care of an egg. I don't believe it would be to its benefit if I were to sit on it. Nor am I aware of any nutritional needs before hatching. Do they need to be bathed regularly or rocked to sleep at night? This is why I'm turning to all of you. I'm not sure what sort of care it might need or if I'm even ready for this kind of responsibility. But I assure you I'm very committed to his or her well being.
[He turns now, revealing a companion who was just out of view until now.]
Oh yes. We're also taking suggestions for names.

Give him a moment to digest this. Only no, it's just a short moment before he press to send his response.]
Mikazuki, what?
And names, of course.

You're quite in luck, if it's an avian sort of egg! I happen to have hand-raised birds. Keep it warm, cradled softly in a nest. No need to bathe the egg, but I did find myself often sitting by the coop reading to my unhatched little wonders well before they ever greeted the sun!

I'll surely leave myself in your care with these important matters. When it comes to the content of reading material did you find your eggs had any particular preferences or does that depend on the unique nature of the individuals?

You know, I wonder what tips you'll get with this post.

Personally I'm curious to see the ratio of serious advice to suggestions that we eat it. Speaking of. What were you thinking for breakfast?

[So it probably doesn't need to be said that there's not much of a connection between octopus egg sacs and the hard round object he's got in hand right now.]

[ Actually, the more important question here is how someone who sounds and looks nothing like a lady produced their own progeny, which shouldn't be feasible. Even under the influence of moons that allow for bird-like features, certain anatomy shouldn't allow for any kind of births, no matter how you look at it. ]
Is this a joke? Because this doesn't seem possible.

Keep it warm, but don't overheat it. Buy an incubator if you need to. Watch the humidity, eggs can 'drown'. You might need to turn it every so often, too.
