( The doctor may be recognizable to some here already, or as one of the longer-term dancers during the festival or someone repeatedly pulled into the compatibility booths giggling up a storm because she was ticklish. (Or that fiendish person who posted up five different people on the moonlace partnering app.) Today she's donning a warm little smile, a sunny dress, and a white lab coat, even if she's woefully missing a stethoscope about her collar.
And no more deer traits in sight, thankfully; considerably more put together. (Also thankfully.) The apartment behind her is just as sunny and accented in golds and dark blues, tidy and cozy with blankets visible over the arm of the sofa and some other chair to the side. )
Good afternoon everyone; I'm Dr. Angela Ziegler, one of many who appeared on the moon and were brought back to Prismatica here, having since settled in. I hope this finds everyone well. It's been a tumultuous few weeks already, hasn't it? It seems with the more prominent moons having faded back out, we'll have some margin of relief. That is why I wanted to post, however.
I realize many who were brought here may not be comfortable bringing their concerns up with the officials or scientists here. I was approached by quite a few people through the last few phases seeking help and I thought I would turn that offer outward. I'm not a general practitioner, exactly, as my specialties lie more in trauma and restorative surgery, but I've done a vast amount of work across multiple specialties and general care, and I was a Chief Medical Officer for a peacekeeping organization for some years as well. It should be plenty.
I can't begin to fathom how the moons may affect everyone going forward nor will I know the extent of what is possible or "normal" until I've seen it enough times in others, but I can at least offer some form of reassurance or a medical record of sorts to see what has changed or ensure you're all right. If anyone would like me to check in on them around the expected time, I can do that as well.
( Presuming she's able to leave the house herself, during the Iris phase. Last time was... well. She attempted a self-quarantine from how intense it had hit, not wanting to bother the public or be bothered by the public. Fingers crossed it isn't always that way. )
I may consider a clinic of sorts if our situation here leans toward something semi-permanent, but until then it is something I would either pick a friend's empty apartment for or make a house call. All we can do is try to keep an eye out for one another, and treat each other well.
Thank you for the moment of your time, and if anyone has any questions, I'll keep an eye on replies here for a bit, or you are welcome to message me privately. I would also appreciate if anyone feels comfortable telling me what they've experienced here so I can help apply it to others.
( She's taking a sip of her coffee and about to wave some little toodle-loo goodbye just as someone's footsteps sound to the side and she clicks off the feed with a slight brightening of the eyes. Probably the reason she doesn't do it out of her apartment!
Feel free to hit her with zany medical Q&A, relay your own experiences to help build her Prismatica Side Effects journal, or just come chat because she looks nice! As an aside, please feel free to assume characters from the new round saw this / feel free to reply! #timing... )

First, I thank you for your help that first time. You were very patient with me, and kinder than I deserved. [He's admitting he may have been a TOUCH dramatic.]
I do have another question for you though, Dr. Ziegler. We know for certain that after a period of time we return to normal, but do we know if the changes will be the same and predictable each time? It is a lot less of a hassle if they are things we can plan for or plan around.

Hanzo, good morning. You know that thanks isn't necessary, but I'll appreciate it all the same. As far as I can tell, Sanguis' phase seems to be the roughest on everyone quite equally, though Iris was undoubtedly the most mischievous. I'll always be happy to help a friend, and all friends deserve kindness.
( He was a bit dramatic, yes, but he was keyed up, scared, and nearly his entire body had changed. She gets it. And as she'd told him at the time, there was no ill will there. She simply didn't have the energy to spare for hating others. There's a sip of her coffee before she launches into a proper reply for him, referencing a glass tablet from home. )
Each of the moons' phases lasted approximately 5 days, as did their effects, which peaked in the middle with the full moons. The Prismals say they're every 30 days give or take, so you should have three weeks of peace between. I already have some notes on the effects most had suffered for them, and based on my own observations through my time directly on the surface of Iris on arrival with my spots visible and nothing else, I'm admittedly on a bit of a limb saying it's likely the degree to which we're affected by each moon will fluctuate. This time, even far from the surface of Iris, I had ears, antlers, a tail, and a higher concentration of spots— as well as the hormonal and pheromonal response.
I don't think it will be terribly uniform every month, so I'll have to see what happens when they come back around again. We'll all be a bit more prepared for it, then. and have a measure to go by from before. Would you like me to keep in touch and be sure you're all right come the second and third days?
Private; text
Would you be able to guarantee complete privacy if we come to you with an emergency? And am I right in assuming that you're likely quite limited in access to medical equipment right now?
Private; (ongoing)
( It ain't a humble brag when it's true, ok. Her resume is very long and very impressive. )
I would only apply information shared with me as part of a calculated percentage or average for general knowledge. Say, I had 20 reported Sanguis changes reporting high levels of aggression out of 24 people who spoke with me and shared. I'd simply say "it's very likely to assume aggression is one of the top effects suffered during this phase". I would not go any further or use any identifiable information such as numbering those with canine traits or those with scales and so on.
As for access to equipment, I suppose it depends on what's needed. Are you asking in a particular direction? I have my surgical kit on me and nanomachines aimed at healing organ, bone, and tissue damage as well as targeted bacterial and mutation difficulties. They... are not easy for me to use, in this place, but they're available for emergencies and are linked to my chromal energy. If there is an issue you may be anticipating or something chronic, I can see what I can arrange.

It's not that I'm particularly anticipating a problem, but... I'm not human. My species is near-human enough to be quite similar physically, but my metabolism is different and I'm sure that my chemical makeup wouldn't be the same either.
If something does happen to me, I'm not eager to submit to Prismal care - because while I'm in their care, they're quite likely to gather data from me about my species, and I'd rather not hand anything to them that they didn't learn when we first arrived.
no subject
Ah! I understand. You say that you're "near-human enough"— would it perhaps be invasive if I asked to perform a physical and go over any anatomical differences with you so that I may have them noted down? In case of any organ differences or placements I may need to be aware of, or do an allergy panel to ensure you won't have a strange reaction to any topical anesthetics or pain medication I may be able to use on you.
I could also take blood liters from anyone who would like the peace of mind of having some on hand and store it properly. Whatever will help you feel at ease here. If anything else crops up, we can go over it then. Those would be my main concerns, I believe.

[Hence why he decided to approach Angela at all. Zohvin's debating even telling her about some of his other medical issues. If something did happen with those, that would be a problem for future-Zohvin to deal with.]
A friend of mine pointed out that they don't seem to have medical scanners here. I don't suppose you brought one with you?

... Well. Someone who seems to be a "legitimate" doctor, anyway.]
From what I've been able to tell the changes people experience seem to range from barely noticeable to quite extreme, including things that seem to actually alter the genetic makeup of their bodies- even if temporarily. Between that and the fact that the very nature of someone's chemistry could already be different than that of a person from your own world would you really be able to gauge what "all right" is?
video;
I have noticed much the same, yes, but I would like to have a better idea of it on an individual level and be able to help others figure out if their changes remain consistent to know what to expect, or figure out why they may be fluctuating if it's drastically different each time.
Different anatomies or chemistries should be something I can learn after seeing someone a couple of times and asking the right questions. "Is this your usual mobility level? What do you require on a daily basis, and what do you think you can go without for five days? Shall I take a blood bag or two in case of emergency?" Things like this.
Mostly, when I say "all right", I just want to help set them at ease that their body will still function as it should, and which changes have been noted so we can be sure they revert properly, and that they will have the means in place to be cared for if something goes awry. So long as someone is still relatively healthy and still has all their faculties, I would consider that a baseline marker.
If, say, something about them has changed drastically and they aren't able to adapt to it or control, they won't need to go through that alone. I can be contacted, or I can be sought out, and I will do what I can to accompany them through their phase or contact the scientists to find out if there is anything we can do. I would try to make sure I understand it and can verify its safety before suggesting they act on the scientists' solutions to someone.

I suppose that makes enough sense, and it's a good idea to offer an option that doesn't require someone to go to the locals around here. For all we know they could be making us into their lab rats. You should be mindful of any medicines or supplies you get from them, though.
no subject
I don't imagine there's any ill will from the scientists, at least not yet, but there is no telling how long that way last or when the novelty will wear off and we become something of a burden to their society.
I had already planned on avoiding their goods as much as possible though, yes. Especially for medical usage. If I can make my own, I will do so in a heartbeat, provided I can synthesize the right ingredients. It's never been my forte but I can stumble my way around some anesthetics and acetaminophen. You sound quite versed on the subject, though. May I ask where your specialties may lie?

I appreciate the assistance greatly!
Which moon do you happen to fall under?
What traits do you display?
How did you feel during it, and how long did the effects last?
If those aren't too intrusive. Again, it's quite alright if you would like to private your replies or skim over what you aren't comfortable sharing. I appreciate whatever you'd like to share.

I happen to fall under the Iris moon, although I am unsure entirely the implications of such. When it became the dominant moon I found myself…transformed, for lack of a better word. I will admit that perhaps some of the traits were a bit lost on me, I’ve heard that they are more pronounced on humans, but I did notice an uptick in bioluminescence. Along that line, there were also. Tendrils.
[Someone doesn’t want to say tentacles.]
That erupted from my scalp, which I found to be somewhat cumbersome. The further the moon progressed I also found myself becoming more and more translucent, which I must say was and still is alarming.
As to how I felt during that time…I do recall spending a lot of chroma to help others out. So generous, perhaps? Which led to a depletion, thankfully now resolved.
>private (permanent)
I have certainly seen a fair amount of drastic transformations, though hearing that you had gone translucent... I can see why that would be alarming. I hope you weren't too anxious because of it. May I ask if your organs seemed affected as well, or your bone structure? Or was it surface-level?
As for the emotional side— I'm under the Iris moon as well, and I think you're correct. I was also very generous as well as affectionate with others, moreso than I usually would be.
I, ah... posted quite a few advertisements on behalf of those I know who I had worried excessively for.
I'm still quite embarrassed for overstepping my boundaries in that regard and disrespecting their privacy, but I believe the moon had something to do with that as well.
That desire to help and protect them and assist them however it may have come.
We'll have to be a bit careful, hmm?
I'm glad to hear you were able to make up for the depletion, however.
If you would feel comfortable and would like, I could have a look the next time if you happen to go translucent again, if only to offer some reassurance that everything seems to be in order otherwise.
