I know it's pretty dismal stuff to announce a grand opening in the aftermath of everything that's been going on lately, but I'm going to try to make it quick and get on to the important part as fast as I can.

I'm Reimi Sugimoto, the owner and manager of Beans! Cat Cafe, on level two of Lunatia. We're a newly-opened combination cat cafe and animal shelter, where you can come to spend time, enjoy a drink, play with our cats, and maybe even take a new furry friend home with you when you go. And right now, because of everything that's happened, we're pitching in to help out as best we can, too.

Now and for a limited time only, you can order your drink with catmallows for a small additional charge, and all proceeds from the catmallows will be donated to the charities working to help the people who've been affected most by the recent tragedy. So please think about stopping by! It's all for a good cause, and they make your drink pretty cute, don't they?


Also, if you're interested in more than just a hot drink and some time with the cats, Beans! is currently hiring new staff. We're mostly looking for servers and people to help take care of the cats right now, but there are a few higher-level positions we're hiring for, too — more on that will be provided on a one-on-one basis for anybody expressing interest.

And finally, even if Beans! isn't quite your thing, please try to find some way to help out the people who need it right now. Going through this sort of thing is...really hard, and you'd be surprised how much even just one person can make a difference to someone in need. Thanks!

Oh, this is delightful, actually. I'm not quite sure about employment, but I definitely intend to spend some time here. Those marshmallows look almost too good to eat.

We'll be happy to have you, absolutely! Are you fond of cats? Playing with them isn't a requirement, we have a cafe-only space too! But it's definitely the draw, for sure!

Oh, I absolutely want to play with the cats. The only concern I would have would be if you were serving food as well as drinks, since while I don't own cats I have heard enough stories from pet owners to know that despite everyone's efforts, they would likely get hair in literally everything.

Mm, that's one of the reasons why we have things divided up the way we do. There's one area just for the cats where the public isn't allowed to go, and there's one area just for customers where we don't let the cats go.

It's just the middle area where the two can intersect, and I'm hoping that will go a long way toward keeping things separate where it ought to be separate, you know?

That definitely sounds good enough to me. I might see if I can pick up some new additions for you, too, since I’ve seen some strays wandering around near the apartments and it’s getting to be cold out.
