I know it's pretty dismal stuff to announce a grand opening in the aftermath of everything that's been going on lately, but I'm going to try to make it quick and get on to the important part as fast as I can.

I'm Reimi Sugimoto, the owner and manager of Beans! Cat Cafe, on level two of Lunatia. We're a newly-opened combination cat cafe and animal shelter, where you can come to spend time, enjoy a drink, play with our cats, and maybe even take a new furry friend home with you when you go. And right now, because of everything that's happened, we're pitching in to help out as best we can, too.

Now and for a limited time only, you can order your drink with catmallows for a small additional charge, and all proceeds from the catmallows will be donated to the charities working to help the people who've been affected most by the recent tragedy. So please think about stopping by! It's all for a good cause, and they make your drink pretty cute, don't they?


Also, if you're interested in more than just a hot drink and some time with the cats, Beans! is currently hiring new staff. We're mostly looking for servers and people to help take care of the cats right now, but there are a few higher-level positions we're hiring for, too — more on that will be provided on a one-on-one basis for anybody expressing interest.

And finally, even if Beans! isn't quite your thing, please try to find some way to help out the people who need it right now. Going through this sort of thing is...really hard, and you'd be surprised how much even just one person can make a difference to someone in need. Thanks!

Security for a cat cafe seems a little bit...mm, I don't know. Overkill, maybe? I mean unless you're thinking of security for the cats!

It is, yeah. It's kind of a relief, too — I have a dog, and I think he's been getting pretty tired of sharing his house space with the cats! But now they have theirs so poor Arnold can finally relax again.

Boy, tell me about it! At my old job customers would always try to smell me during Sanguis, it got really frustrating. I think it'll be better like this, though. And I'll remember that offer!

Yeah! The cats were kind of an accident, I found a couple of strays awhile back and then the cafe idea sort of grew out of trying to find them homes. But my dog Arnold came with me from home, I've had him forever, since he was just a puppy.

Oh, I see! Well, hi, I'm Reimi, and like I mentioned, I'm the owner of Beans! What's your name, and can you tell me about the kinds of accounting you've done before?

It's an additional charge of 1ch each! At Beans!, you get one complimentary drink included as a part of your table rental fee. If you choose to add on a catmallow, we add an additional 1ch and all of those proceeds go directly to charity!

...And I guess if you wanted five catmallows, you could do that too! It's 1ch per catmallow.

Sort of! The cafe is divided into separate rooms. There's a place that's just for people to spend time, where the cats don't go. Then there's also a place where only the cats go, no people, so that they can play and relax themselves.

Then there's a playroom where people can sit with the cats! So there are sort of different areas, to help keep stress off of the cats but also let our visitors come and see them.

[Cats have complicated emotions like humans do? Geez, the real world is such a confusing and difficult place.]

Sure! Sometimes animals need to go off on their own and have some time to rest where it's quiet and warm, just like people do. It's important for the cats to know that there's a space for that, where humans aren't just walking in all the time and bothering them.

I have done accounting for small and large businesses, primarily trading companies, as well as governmental accounting. I realize that sounds a bit strange in comparison to a restaurant, but I assisted in throwing parties and handled the food and catering for my country on multiple occasions. Oh, wow. For your country? So you must've been working for somebody pretty high up then, right?

No, but you can tell by the way they act. When a cat wants to be left alone, it'll go try to find a place for that. And if it's bothered when it's stressed out, then it might scratch or bite. It's things like that.

They are! But I already have a dog, and I'd hate for him to get jealous! I don't need any other dogs in my life when I have Arnold.
