i've been trying to figure out what people even use this "internet" thing for and it seems like most people just write whatever they want on it, right? that's what it seems like. i saw a bunch of questions and some ads and some introductions.
there's an observatory here apparently. they let you go there and look at the stars at night if you want to. i guess the stars would be different here than they would on earth or wherever else. they have different constellations too which i guess makes sense. different star patterns and different cultural basis for deciding what shapes they look like to begin with.
every place is different. they all do things differently. around here you're supposed to hold hands or hug or fuck and maybe here that's no different than taking your shoes off when you go in the house or saying itadakimasu before you eat. i guess you're supposed to just get used to that. living here means that's just what you're stuck with.
i ran out of cigarettes.
so is that what people do when they decide they need money? just go on here and write "hey i'm out of cash anybody want to moonlace"? like it's a fucking bathroom wall or something.
yeah, i know, or get a job. last i checked you can't get a job in the middle of the night on no notice.
cigarettes. candles. incense. maybe someone who knows how to do calligraphy or draw. guess that's a shopping list that'll have to wait until morning.
[OOC: Please assume that this was posted at some utterly stupid hour in the middle of the night!]

you said it all by yourself once, i heard you
is that why you're awake
sitting up thinking
no subject
I'd already slept for a year. I don't really need to sleep for awhile yet.
So I'm reading right now.
no subject
i guess i probably am more than usual, huh
guess i must just be kind of tense
it's really interesting that you can bank sleep like that
humans start to hallucinate after i think about 80 hours without sleep
our minds aren't made to go long stretches without a break
but it sounds like for you it's more like a battery
so long as you've still got "charge" in it you can keep going
and if you stored up a lot then you can go for equally long without recharging
i guess that has evolutionary advantages when the things you eat are as advanced themselves as they are
like being able to outwalk an ambush predator just from superior stamina
anyway
what are you reading

You're a very strange person sometimes, Jotaro. By all appearances and behavior, one would assume you're little more than a thoughtless thug. Yet, here you are, curious about a vampire's evolution.
I don't mean that as an insult. But it does speak to your intellect.
I'm reading about the gods and the other moons that are inhabited. Records of the last few months.

solve two problems at once
anyway people make a lot of assumptions about me i've noticed
i guess it's easier
just look at a guy and decide that you know everything you need to know about him because of how he looks
too tall too big wrong eyes just a half
got a lot of that back home
so i decided people can assume what they want
i don't have time for people who don't care about who i am and what i think
did anything interesting happen in the last few months?
from the records

Believe it or not, I think I understand where you're coming from.
I admit, I thought it might be the case. That you weren't full Japanese. I wish I could say I was surprised for any judgment based on that, but it seems to be the nature to judge anyway. Vampire or human.
I envy your strength.
Quite a few things. I could send you copies if you'd like. It might be more interesting to read from the source.

if i'm not paying attention i mean
finding stuff to wear is pretty hard too
i used to go through uniforms really fast
does it bother you to talk about vampire stuff
i'm not trying to act like you're a science experiment or something
and sure
i could use something to read
no subject
I suppose you didn't have that luxury.
No, not particularly. It's not always easy to answer since my situation is a unique one.
There really is no one else like me, at least not where I'm from.
I'll make sure to drop it by, if you'll give me your address.
no subject
that's what mom ended up doing, i just always got clothes made for me after that
but it's not hard to figure out in a hurry that you're different from the other kids when you're having to do that and no one else is
being different never bothered me that much though
mostly it was when people said things about my mom that i'd get pissed and hit somebody
...
i need to ask you something but i don't want to do it where the "internet" can see
anyway here's the address. [LANDMARKS.]
no subject
Good.
So you wish to ask me in person?
Fine then.
I should be there in a few minutes, then.
no subject
i'll answer that when you get here
i'll see you coming too i'm up on the roof
so just wave or something
and i'll come down
action;
He looks up at the roof.]
You know. I could come up there to join you instead if you wish.
no subject
For the time being, he just raises a hand very slightly in acknowledgement and greeting, and affects nonchalance as he lounges and peers over the edge.]
Bet you can't make it in a single jump.
[BOYS WILL BE BOYS.]
no subject
Crouching down, he leaps into the air. What the fuck is up Kujo Jotaro IT'S ALUCARD THAT'S WHAT'S UP. He comes floating down calmly, his boots clicking neatly onto the roof.]
You were saying?
no subject
So he lost the bet. That's fine, he'll get over it. What he got in return is probably worth it, anyway.]
That was pretty good. Okay, ten points for you.
[He shuffles over a little, not really needing to make room, but suggesting it through body language anyway.]
That's how I got up here, too. Jumped.
no subject
He sits and holds out the book.]
With your Stand. Right?
no subject
[He even sits the right way, he muses absently, as his attention turns toward the offered book and by extension, the way that they're positioned. Just like Polnareff used to. As close as you can get without actually touching — that's how it's supposed to be.
He reaches for the book, making sure to take it in such a way that their hands don't touch.]
...He doesn't like it. That he can't just come out whenever he wants, I mean. I can tell it's making him restless but there's not a lot I can do about it.
no subject
[He considers offering contact. Jotaro had done the same for him before, so.
Hesitantly, he offers his hand.]
I'd like to ask you more about the two of you sometime.
no subject
[What will happen, he wonders, the instant Star has enough chroma to come out? He has a feeling he already knows; his Stand is all but vibrating inside him like a runner at the starting gate, waiting for the gun to go off.
Well. Might as well find out.
Wordlessly, he slides his palm over Alucard's, and the contact crackles — and like a shot, Star is off. Which is why he sets the book in his lap and frees up his other hand, turning it palm-up to await —]
Hn. Watch this.
[— the pack of cigarettes that all but appears in his hand, and the big purple spirit hovering almost puppyishly nearby, looking for praise for his theft well done.]
no subject
[The contact goes both ways. The waning strength instead helps him feel recharged, and the exhaustion slowly leaves him, at least for now.
And he watches, seeing the Stand deposit the pack to Jotaro, looking at him hopefully. For all of the ferocity that the Stand is capable of, his expression also reminds him of an eager hound seeking praise.]
He's quick. And a thief. [But Alucard doesn't sound accusatory. If anything, he's just... teasing, a half-smile on his face.]
no subject
[This is probably not at all what happened but it's how he's choosing to interpret Star's motivations, anyway. That's not so unusual, right? People attribute human motivations to inanimate things all the time. It's fine. It's probably fine.]
...I don't really want to moonlace with people, but I don't like that it keeps him trapped if I don't. He doesn't deserve to be locked up because of me.
no subject
[GOD IT'S SO FASCINATING. Much in the way that Jotaro is curious about his vampirism, he's interested to know more about Stands.]
I understand your reluctance. I've not been close with someone physically that recently. But there comes a time we need to make sacrifices to get by.
no subject
["Left" in the world. He only meant to say "in the world", but he doesn't seem to notice the extra word he'd accidentally let slip in.]
Do you want to try touching him?
[It would follow logically, right? If Star is a part of him, and it's contact that matters, and if Star can act like a buffer in that way then maybe...]
Or is that stupid. He can channel other things. Maybe he can do it with chroma too, I don't know.
no subject
[It's hard to not notice that part, honestly.]
I would, if you wouldn't mind. Even if it doesn't matter about chroma. He's very interesting. You both are.
no subject
[He says, visibly uncomfortable, abruptly fixating on the silhouette of the city backlit against the horizon instead of looking anywhere else.]
Like mine. Exactly like mine, they were the same. Except his was stronger. Vampires are stronger than humans when it comes to things like that, I guess.
[He fumbles with the ill-gotten pack of cigarettes, fingers trembling as he gets it open and searches one out almost without realizing he's doing it.]
You can go ahead. I think I can hold him for a little while now, so...do what you want.
