[It's Atsushi! Without his glasses, and with his hair pushed back, and looking 95% more grumpy than anyone has seen the 'usual' Atsushi, but it's definitely him.]

My other half told me that I need to make more friends. [Speech patterns are definitely Inner's, but it may come as a shock to anyone who hasn't met him yet.] I don't care, but if it'll satisfy him I'll ask.

People willing to be sparring partners preferred. No one too noisy or annoying. If the other Atsushis don't like you then I hate you already, so don't bother replying.

[This is how you friendship, right?]

[It's absolutely a challenge.]

That's what I like to hear.

[He gives his address here.] Come when you're prepared.

[With reckless abandon he gathers his sword and heads over without a second thought. Time to see if his retraining was doing anything good.

So outside the address, he calls out loudly.]

This is Wei Wuxian here to answer the challenge!

[Atsushi opens the door, sword in hand.]

Nakajima Atsushi, here to defeat you. Come in.

You sure are cocky.

Though, inside? Are you sure?

[Wasn't it too small?]

Because I can back it up.

[Yeah he's super cocky.]

If we fight outside we'll be interrupted and it'll be a pain.

It's so cramped. I'm not taking responsibility if I break something.

[He had never heard of anyone sparing inside. That was ludicrous, but, if that's what he wanted sure. He would come inside.]

[There's not much to break - mostly bookcases full of books. Someone living here is definitely a nerd.

At least there's a good size space in the living room.]

What do you expect to do the next time you have to fight in an enclosed space? Just ask your opponent nicely to take it outside?

Why would I even fight in an enclosed space? Though, I guess if I had to... it wouldn't be with a sword.

[Depending on the opponent, he would probably just use a talisman first.]

Well, it's not my stuff at risk, so whatever pleases you.

I'll be pleased if you put up a decent fight.

[He raises his sword, body tense and ready to respond to any motion from Wei Wuxian.]

Haven't you ever been told to not underestimate your opponent?

[He held his sword up, but he didn't unsheath it yet. He would do it when absolutely necessary so as not to wear out too soon.]

Only by people who can't back it up.

[He's not going to attack until Wei's at least drawn his weapon, he's not a complete dick.]

Haha...

(Oh, now he really did need to go all out! Fine. He'll just have to be fast about it. He drew his sword and held it casually.]

Your move master.

[His words dropped with sarcasm. But, if this person was going to act like he was the end all and be all of everything how could he not?]

[In that case - Atsushi dashes towards him, going for a slice to the side. He's not enough of an asshole to try for serious or permanent injury in a friendly/"friendly" spar.

Being a spirit has made him stronger than a normal human, but he's by no means unbeatable.]

[As a cultivator, even one who hadn't restored his golden core yet, Wei Wuxian was faster and stronger than a normal human being, his sword was also not a regular sword and instead a spiritual sword. Lacking a golden core however meant he could only use it properly for a short time before his spiritual power was drained.

He spins away from the slice a movement fluid and almost like a dance. He used the momentum to swing his sword back in response allowing it to glow. The light of the sword extended its effect radius, essentially extending it beyond it's actual blade.]

[Atsushi underestimates the reach of the glowing sword, and the light slices into his arm. It draws ink instead of blood, but Atsushi doesn't look at all phased.]

Not bad-

[With more of a mind to the range of his sword's light, Atsushi goes for another attack, swiping low to Wei's knees.]

[He takes note at the ink, interesting. So this person was not human!

He want's to jump up but the crowded conditions make that dificult, so instead he used his sheath to block. He then realized he probably should have clarified something.]

Questions, is this just a sword fight, or an anything fight?

If it's something I can heal from, feel free.

[Still fighting as he talks, of course, trying to find an opening in Wei's guard]

[He grins as if he had been given the world and throws his sword up into the air. He defends with his sheath but it's not perfect, he takes a few grazes as he backs away as far as the room will allow him.

It might be noticed his sword never came down.]

[Throwing your sword always works, apparently, and Atsushi has to keep one eye on what it's doing, which necessitates backing off of Wei after a few swipes.]

Why does your sword do that.

Because it's a spiritual sword.

[And it indeed was floating on it's wrong and moving in to fight as if being wielded by someone.]

Suibian is quite special too!

[He was proud of his sword, his sword who loved him so much it sealed itself from all other users! Such a special sword!]

Though this much is a given with a cultivator.

[And he really didn't have long until his spiritual power was drained this way, so it was time to go on the offensive.]

I'm going to go all out now, so, just to remind you, I'm not responsible for any damage!

My spiritual sword doesn't do that.

[He wants a cool floating magical sword too! His is just his soul and turns into a book sometimes, what the fuck.

Now Atsushi's on the defensive. He doesn't know the limits of what that sword can and can't do on its own, so he's going to be marginally more cautious than usual.]

Maybe because you're not a cultivator?

[He can't speak for others, but then his sword simply had a spirit, it wasn't connected to his soul. Well, it could recognize his soul. But that was different.

Now the biggest advantage of a cultivators flying sword was that it was a ranged weapon, and it freed up the cultivator a little. So, taking this opportunity to pull a talisman out of his sleeve and throw it out towards Atushi before sending it enough spiritual power to activate.

It exploded.

If done right he would use the chance to attack from the front with his sheath and take advantage of the situation, if not, well, he would be embarrassed.]

[How big of a boom are we talking here? Inner has a lot of pain tolerance, so if it's a little boom he'll recover quickly enough to block the strike. If it's something more severe, then he'll take the blow on the chin, or whatever body part is appropriate.]

[It would be a flash of light, heat and force, and probably large enough to cause damage to the room. It was the sort of thing meant to be used on demons and monsters and definitely outside.]

[Definitely big boom then. Atsushi flinches backwards, wincing, somewhat burned. Do you want to know what burned ink smells like? Now you do.

By some miracle of god none of the books are damaged at least.]

why do i do this to myself when writing fight scenes is hard
