There's a five second span where the look on her face screams 'ABORT ABORT' but she pushes through it, exhaling. ]

Hello. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Rey. I've recently opened up a shop on Level 2 that deals in all different kinds of junk and recycled items, as well as electronic repair. I have a background in spaceship salvage, and my workers all have varying degrees of knowledge or interest in similar things.

[ And awkward pause, before D-0 beeps at her in binary and nudges her foot with his nose. This is of course off-camera, but she looks down and smiles, before her eyes return to the video feed. ]

[ She is more like Anakin Skywalker than his own grandson is some days. ]

We've only been open a few weeks but we've gotten decent business. It's really just... something to keep busy with. And I like doing it.

Any experience with hoverbikes? I've been working on building one from salvage from the junkyard I'm working at, but I've only ever repaired them before, so it's a bit slow going.

[ Rey brightens immediately at this, nodding her head. ]

I built my own speeder from parts back home, and I've repaired more than a few. I could definitely take a look!

I run a munitions and repair shop 'round Level 3. Do a lot of my own inventin' in between. I'll have to come by.

[ Rey smiles at the compliment, nodding her head. ]

It's the name of a flower that blooms in the desert I grew up in.

[ Her smile grows at the mention of his own repair shop, and inventing. ]

Definitely! I'd love to know what you've been working on.

No kidding! That's an intense name for a flower.

Sure. I'm used to buildin' and drawin' up weapons for folks, for the most part. My latest project, though... I made a little dog. For the heck of it.

It grows on a planet that doesn't have any natural water sources, it's a pretty intense flower.

[ Rey was very fond of the flowers.

The mention of a dog gets her attention, and she tilts her head. ]

Really? Like a droid but... a dog?

No kidding? I used to own a salvage yard myself, did a lot of repairs and maintenance on space vehicles while I was at it. Might come 'round for a chat.

[ She's got not a great track record with salvage yard owners so her expression is a little guarded, but the fact that he says he also did his own repairs is different enough from Unkar that she isn't immediately dismissive. ]

It's nice to meet others who are familiar with space-faring technology.

[ If Duo takes note of her closed-off posture, he doesn't comment on it. His own expression remains openly cheerful and interested.

Look, if she wanted to comment out loud about her suspicions he would do nothing but sympathize with her. Shady practices are part of the business, though Duo always did his work with the betterment of his community in the back of his mind. ]

Likewise. I've noticed there's a pretty wide range of experiences with space in this town. Plenty of tech I never even dreamed of, right down to people who never even realized humans could break atmo.

[ Rey nods her head, relaxing a little because it's hard for her to remain totally disconnected when tech is involved. It's one of her favorite things, really. ]

I've noticed all the differences. I have a few friends who are completely floored by simple things, though there's definitely technology that they have here that I've never seen.

[ Rey smiles, looking both pleased and embarrassed. ]

Thank you, Konoha. I thought it was time I do something a little more permanent.

Mmm... I know some people don’t see the point when we could leave any time, but I don’t see the point in putting our lives on hold either...

[Might as well live like this is their home while it is, right?]

Does “electronic repair” mean you know how to fix the rice cooker boxes?

[He waits a few minutes for her to finish recording before he moves in to put his arms around her. His chin is tucked against her shoulder and a smile creeps into his features.]

I think that went fine, if you ask me.

[He wasn't great at talking about himself on the network either. He'd only done it before when he got back because he'd been looking for her.]

[ She relaxes into his embrace, leaning back against his chest and tucking her hands around his forearm. ]

I hope people will want to come shop, so this doesn't just turn into a project workshop.

[He kisses her temple, smiling to himself.]

It might be slow at first, but it will pick up I'm sure.

[He's trying to remain optimistic and steadfast; whatever she needs him to be. It's not as if he has experience in this kind of thing. His mother was a politician, his father a smuggler, and his uncle a monk. Scrapping and scavenging was all her.]
