Hmm...I dunno. We've all been pulled here from different worlds, but I don't think there's a central character. If there's a lot of main characters, who's the true main character?

[He scratches the back of his head. Gintoki is the main character in his canon, but there's lots of other main characters here. It's confusing. Sougo's not a pensive or philosophical character, so what's the use in thinking about this? He'd rather think with his sword.]

I guess this is more like an isekai genre, so it has to be a moonblessed who stands out among moonblessed. I at least want to be part of the main cast, we have to figure it out!

How is someone like that supposed to save the world? Anyway, it could be a girl too.

He doesn't have to save the world. He just has to be surrounded by cute girls without being threatening.

Ah. Sorry, force of habit.

[He didn't even notice it! But as Taichi explains Izumi's situation, the picture slowly becomes clearer to Sougo. One girl and 22 dudes? And Taichi thinks that's normal? At the very least, Taichi is from a canon that's aimed for a different demographic than Gintama. Well, in theory. Gintama merch capitalizes on the appeal of the most popular male characters after all.]

So does everyone there have a crush on her or something?

[Taichi seems pretty dense, so he could always deny it. But if it was indeed true that none of these dudes were attracted to the main girl, then...]

If not, then I think I get why there's a lotta guys in this place.

N...o? I don't think so. Some do! Masumi-kun is really obvious about it, and I think a couple others, but not everyone. Yuki-chan and Mucchan are only 14, Director-sensei's 20-something so...

[This conversation has Sougo thinking Prismatica is some sort of 18+ otome game. He tells Taichi that they "gotta look" for that girl, but he puts his arms around his head and reclines in his chair. He's not going to look for anything.]

[Taichi needs to teach Sougo how to respect women. Whether he will succeed is debatable, though. Despite the fact that all the Gintama women can kick Sougo's ass, he remains incorrigible. Then again, he never grew up with any good role models in this regard. There's his older sister, but that's different, okay. She's earned his respect.]

I'm not a womanizer just because I can see that people all have something worth celebrating! Trust me, I'm an expert in popularity. I can find positive qualities in anyone.

[Well...Sougo won't go against someone who wants to see the good in everyone. That quality is exactly what Sougo treasures in Kondou. No one can replace Kondou-san, ever, but there's a certain pull to these earnest, trusting types. A pull he'd rather deny, but it's there. He'll have to keep an eye on this dog boy to make sure he doesn't get into too much trouble, Sougo's own bullshit exempted.]

If you're an expert in popularity, how come you're not in the lead role?

[He's not afraid to land a critical hit with the popularity thing, though.]

Just because I know what makes other people popular doesn't mean I can apply it to myself. I already know I'm short, I don't have big muscles, I'm naturally pretty plain, I don't stand out enough so I can only ever get extra roles on TV, and I'm pretty dumb. But I've managed to improve it a lot already!

I dye my hair, my ears are pierced so I've got an edge now, and I always keep up on popular fashion trends! I'm working on my acting too and have made leaps and bounds lately!

[Never mind that Sougo ended up getting 3rd in subsequent popularity polls (to that damn Hijikata, no less), and then 4th in the last popularity poll...but Hijikata and Takasugi tend to be rough around the edges too.

Besides, why should he even help this Taichi person who he just met? Maybe Sougo is curious to see if Taichi would actually believe all the shit he makes up on the spot. Taichi can't suddenly turn into a sadist overnight if he didn't even know what flogging was!]
