Video; UN: FINN
[ The video almost looks like the position a security camera might take, looking down at Finn's living room from a corner. For those that's been to his flat, they might remember a bookshelf is there. Anyway, the place is destroyed.
The couch is ripped apart, tables are broken, books are everywhere, a plant looks to have been torn from the pot and dragged through the white carpet, it's just bad.
The camera pans over towards the hallway where some big brown and black bird comes waddling into the room on webbed feet, head casually scanning on top of its long neck. ]
Can anyone tell me what this thing is. [ Oh, that's Finn's voice. He's whispering and, though he's not in view, sprawled on top of the bookcase. ] I found some shop and this guy told me that animals popped out of some sphere and I bought it because I wanted to see what it actually did and this thing-
[ The goose waddles over to the open wall closet, tugging on something inside until a jacket pulls free of a hanger, then proceeds to drag it through the dirt for no reason.
Finn speaks up. ] Why? You don't think you've done enou- [ The goose stops, flaps its impressive wingspan and hisses at him before folding its wings back and continues about its business.
After a beat- ] I didn't like that one anyway!
[ The goose stops again and looks at him, apparently annoyed now. It flaps its wings, lowers its neck parallel to the ground, and starts running- The camera shakes- ] No, no, no, no-! [ And the video ends. ]

Anyway, he's still sitting on top of the bookcase but the camera's turned to him now. Other than a few scratches, he's at least not hurt. ]
What does it want? Why's it like this? I thought it was scared at first, but now I think it's just trying to take my apartment from me. [ And it's doing a pretty damn good job so far. ]

[ If Finn had planned to get an evil home-wrecking pet Jim would seriously worry. Still chuckling, he shrugs at the question, pursing his lips. ]
I don't know. Geese aren't easily scared, they're confrontational and-- honestly, kind of assholes. Have you tried feeding it some treats? Getting it a toy, something to keep it entertained?

[ Everything the light touches belongs to the Goose. He doesn't know how he can give it something when it can just take everything.
Maybe it's the gesture that matters. ] Wait... Like an offering. [
Or a sacrifice. His eyes dart around the room, thinking. ] Okay... Okay. I can do that. It's probably just mad I took it out of its ball or something...Oh, I'll cook for it! [ Because that's going to work. ]
no subject
I'm sorry. [ Is he though, is he really. ] This is just... hilarious. But don't try to confront it or anything, it looks pissed as hell right now. Give me, uh...
[ He looks around briefly, then back to the camera. ] Fifteen minutes, twenty at most? I'll be there and I'll help you out, okay?
no subject
You sure? If the sofa's anything to go by, I think it can really hurt someone.
no subject
I'll be fine. Not the first goose I've run into. [ He starts to get up. ] See you in a bit, alright? Just be good and sit still, and I'll be there soon.
no subject
Let me know if you need a distraction when you get here.

[ He ends the call and heads out to find some food and treats that birds like, as well as a squeaky toy he's managed to find. A little over fifteen minutes later, he's at Finn's door, knocking once before he pushes the door open and lets himself in. ]
Hello? [ He's careful as he steps further into the room, looking every way and trying to spot the evil demon goose. ]
no subject
[ Hi, yes, Finn's above him still perched on his bookshelf. He apparently hasn't deemed it safe to hop down yet.
The goose is on what's left of the sofa. There's stuffing everywhere, and it appears to be in the middle of making some sort of nest. Truly putting a claim on Finn's place, seems like.
But though it has some stuffing sticking out of its bill, the head is raised over the top of the couch, staring at Jim. It looks shocked that anyone would dare enter its domain. ]

Hello there, buddy, [ He greets with a soft, cooing tone, stopping some feet away from the couch. Eyes never leaving the animal, he reaches into the bag and takes out a handful of the dry treats, holding them out to let the goose see and smell them. ]
Here. You want some?
no subject
But the goose stops waddling less than a foot away, making some low noise and inching closer. The head hovers above James' hand for a second before swiping a piece of food.
Finn can't breathe. ] What's happening?
no subject
He breathes out a sigh while the animal takes the treats, then he chuckles, slowly and carefully sitting down on the floor. ]
Oh, you liked that, did you? Hold on, I have more.
[ He digs into the basket, taking out one apple, showing it. He takes a bite from it, then he holds it out to the goose. ]
Go on, take it. You know you want it, it's pretty tasty.
no subject
How are you doing this?
[ Finn's busy losing his mind right now but he can't really blame anything for liking James that much. Though, to be fair, Finn had attempted to fight back with a broom at one point, so they never really started out on good footing.
Anyway, he wants to climb off the shelf, but he doesn't want to set the bomb off, so to speak. Not with Jim between them. ]
no subject
[ He gives Finn a quick glance over his shoulder, smiling at him. He takes the opportunity to wave at him, since they haven't even greeted each other properly yet. In the meantime, the goose seems happy enough with his treat, and Jim relaxes, not yet pulling out the toy. ]
You should climb back down. Come on, just don't freak out and he won't hurt you.
no subject
He hums to himself, not sure about this plan but having no better ideas (this is his best chance to get off of this thing), so he slowly climbs down, moving deliberately, thankful for such sturdy furniture built into the wall.
When he quietly touches the floor, the goose looks up from its apple and stares at Finn. Neither move.
Don't freak out. Right. Yes. He can do that.
Didn't Don say they had teeth?]no subject
Hey, hey! Look at me, [ He urges the animal, lifting a hand and snapping his fingers, getting the goose's attention. ] Yeah. Go back to your apple now, come on.
[ Waving his hand towards the apple, he reaches behind him so Finn will take his other hand, while murmuring over his shoulder, ] Sit down next to me. It's fine.

Meanwhile, Finn's still frozen in place and trying to convince himself that sitting down is a good idea. It doesn't really seem like a good idea, if he's honest. BUT! He trusts James. And being closer to him in case the goose goes feral again is definitely a good idea.
So he inches closer, the goose slowing down its bites with every inch, and eventually Finn sits. He's tense, watching the enemy's every move, and still has the darksaber's hilt in his hand just in case.
And because it needs to be said- ] You're amazing.
no subject
He huffs a chuckle, squeezing Finn's hand. ] What, because of one goose? Told you, I grew up on a farm. We had a bunch of these waddling around. I had more fun giving them hell than trying to befriend them, though.
[ He glances at Finn's saber, quirking an eyebrow up at him. ] What are you doing? You're not chopping him up.
no subject
Oh, he gets distracted by the hand on his. ]
It might attack you. I don't know what these things can do. [ He drops the saber, anyway. Not far away but it's not in his hand. ]
no subject
I have my phaser, if it does. I'll stun it if I have to, but you're not killing the poor thing.
[ He pushes the bag towards Finn. ] Go on. Get some treats out and offer them.
no subject
He looks down at the bag, worried, but sighs. ] Yeah, okay.
[ Finn stretches his hand out, wiggling every finger, before digging out a treat and clearing his throat. The goose stops eating long enough to look as Finn holds out his hand silently. He's terrified but he knows better than to start freaking out.
The goose steps forward, slowly, deliberately, before taking a treat from his hand, eating it, taking another, all while staring at him. Finn thinks its angry, he isn't sure. He also isn't breathing. ]
no subject
Jim sits still while watching Finn interact with the goose. It looks wary, but not threatening, so that's good. He waits until the goose takes a few treats to finally coo a little, smiling wide. ]
Aw, look at you two, making friends. See, it's not some kind of monster. Are you, boy?
[ He tilts his head a little, offering the goose a treat of his own once Finn is done, hoping that'll be enough for it to let Jim reach out to touch its feathers. ] Actually, is it a boy? We should probably try and figure that out.
no subject
Actually, that's pretty low on the list of Finn's list of worries right now. He shakes his head. ]
James?... I don't know what to do with them. Is-... Did I just buy a pet?
[ This is not the kitten he pictured. ]
no subject
[ Because it doesn't look like the goose is going anywhere now. It's claimed Finn's place as its own, now it all boils down to whether or not they can both learn to coexist. ]
Yeah, Finn. I think you just bought a pet. [ He gives Finn a sympathetic look, while pressing his lips in and trying not to laugh. ] Sorry.
no subject
This... isn't so bad. [ He glances around the room, knowing damn well that it's pretty bad. ] We just got off on the wrong foot. We can do this. I can do this.
[ The goose is staring daggers at him while slowly munching on the treats out of Finn's very still hand. This is fine. ]
