This may be too broad of a question to ask, but I've been curious at any rate. I'd like to ask about what your interpretation of "magic" is, and the basic rules of it should it have any or even limitations.

From my understanding based on my own world, there are some limitations, but magic is capable of much in talented hands.

I suppose that also begs the question of what exactly chroma can be used for, as it is in its essence not quite the typical energy source, yet capable of mild magic on its own.

Theoretically there are no limitations on how strong a creature's power can grow, that's correct. As a matter of fact, I was once even acquainted with an individual whose power was considered too great; he wore armor not to protect himself from outside attack, but to contain his own abilities.

Say our object of study is "ice magic". A demon with an affinity for ice could control and manipulate ice, but a human lacking that affinity could not. However, if the human were to stumble across the Mystic Orb of Ice Whatnot, they could in theory use it according to whatever potential that object possessed.
