[The video opens to Fish awake, sitting up in what seems to be their bed. Their dressing gown is on, at least. It's late at night in Lunatia-- give or take about 3am. And if your volume is up high enough, you might catch the sound of... someone? being very busy the next room over. Fish looks pretty concerned.]

Ah... hello.

[This is awkward.]

It's been a while since I've used this to address the whole network but... I was wondering how people deal with... ah... cats?

[And there's the sound of a door busting open and a blur of violet getting in the way of the camera and Fish and the suggestion that the merfolk threw their hand up so as to save the communicator from getting knocked over.]

Molly what--?

Ignore me, I'm just sneaking in here.

Wait, I can't--

Yeah, it's fine, just let me crawl in here.

I'm on the communicator.

Great. I don't wanna talk I just wanna sit...

[Rustle rustle.]

Perfect.

[A pause of silence.]

Continue, I'm comfortable now.

[The communicator comes down again, a little closer to Fish's face this time, they look defeated. But there's a very content, lavender-skinned, heavily tattooed tiefling on them, their tail swishing lazily and making a mess of the video a bit.]

I guess now you all know what I need... ah... a bit of advice on. Sorry, I'll get to replying to any answers later. It isn't the easiest having a lap full of cat-like tiefling.

[They huff and grin before turning the feed off.]

[The reply comes much later, once it's morning. Fish is very drowsy when they reply, though.]

[Oh. This is one of those situations.]

It's basically a little handheld device that allows you to control a dot made of light. Cats and other pouncy animals enjoy chasing them. It's hours of guaranteed entertainment~

[Fish squints, not really being able to imagine it.]

[Good morning, Gawain. Here is Fish freshly woken up and, maybe as expected, there's a hint of a head of dark hair and dark purple horns close to them. But there's no pillows under their heads.]

I've been on it. But it's like the minute he has a burst of energy... well... all the pillows will be on the floor again.

Well, cats are really easy to take care of, honestly. Kitties need love and affection oh but don't feed them milk! [Usagi is not bothered by talking cats, all things considered.]

They tend to sleep for a long time.

[Well, look at that. She just happens to have one handy, so the video pans over to finally land on a laser pointer sitting on the end table beside her.]

I have so many of these, it's getting to be a little ridiculous.

[But she's not done yet. After a moment, she picks it up and presses the button on the side to power it on. And sure enough, there's a little red dot on the wall, just at the edge of the frame.]

[Yasha doesn't know how to do video. Worse, she doesn't realize it's video. So have her voice slightly muffled while it shoots image of some blurry greenery, a flower shifting a little, and the sky. She put her... whatever this is in a flower box.]

Need help with him?

[Fish's reply comes in a little later in the day. Like a little past the time they were awake earlier. Fish looks over their shoulder at a bundle of purple and blankets on their bed.]

... you seem to be right. He hasn't awoken at all yet. Why can't I give him milk?

Milk is actually really hard for their tummies even if the do like it.

[Er... this has got to be the weirdest video transmission yet. Fish blinks and realizes that it's Yasha.]

Yasha! I think... yeah... I might need the help. I've been fixing my apartment again everytime I get the chance to. But... he just starts knocking things over again-- like he did last night. He left a mess in the kitchen while he was supposedly making a midnight snack.

But I have no idea how to get him to stop. And I don't have the heart to be hard on him he's so adorable this way?

Huh. Interesting. I never knew that about cats.

[Oooooooh. Fish is amazed.]

... I wonder what would happen if I tried a similar kind of magic. Hold on.

[Fish sets the communicator somewhere so Pidge could see the tiefling on the couch, cushions all over the floor and just everything a mess. And then there's the sound of a lyre's string played and a little orb of light floating out into the living room. Molly doesn't jump on it. But they're watching it keenly with their hands on his chin, eyes just so wide like saucers. His tail is flicking back and forth lazily.]

[ He's trying so hard to not sound like he's been laughing, but... he has. He still is, if Connie's completely honest. ]

I don't know much about cats... I don't think you can train them, though, and I definitely don't think you can train Mr. Mollymauk.

[ The feed opens to a tired-looking Ed, though maybe not as tired as he should be. ]

I was going to say you should just toss it out but...

[ He pauses, then looks a bit annoyed with himself. ]

Actually, just toss her out and lock the door. Problem solved.

[Gawain's pretty awake looking, but that's because with few exceptions, he's always awake and alert. The amazing ability to forgo all physical needs.]

I suppose you can't treat him like a dog, huh?

Have you considered making some place more enticing? Giving him a heating pad to lay on?

[Fish will take that laughter, it was absolutely well-deserved. They snort. This reply comes a little later in the morning when Molly actually is up and chinhandsing at a dancing light doing little tricks in front of him, like writing out his name in fine cursive.]

Oh, you're telling me. I don't even think Molly's domesticated.

[Or at least this version of Molly isn't. It's so funny. But Fish doesn't have the heart to be hard on him at all.]

[ If Fish is thinking about how heartless Ed is, Al would agree with them. ]
