I've been here for a year and I think I may have a little bit of artists' block. I think it might be the summer heat.

When I first got here I got to do some scuba diving. I haven't gotten to do this for awhile and I'd like to give it another try since it's so warm out. It's probably a long shot, but if anyone here is skilled in it, would you mind answering some questions? While I'm sure there are places to learn - it can't hurt to ask here first.

And a few curious questions.

1. Tell me something interesting about the world you were before here. I'm always looking to hear stories from where you're from. So if you have a story you spontaneously want to share, send me a message.
2. An interesting thing you've learned about this world. The Moons and Chroma don't count, I'd bet that's different from most, if not all, places. Something like a hidden gem of a restaurant,
3. What do you do to get inspiration? New location? Where's your favorite place to get inspired here?
4. Where's your favorite place to pick up some new furniture.

That being said, I have the opportunity to set up a permanent studio here, which should prevent my cat** from spilling tea on stuff when he wants attention.

1. Writer's block has a physical form, and it looks like a sheep/goat with gears stuck in it.
2. The library has a surprisingly large selection of bridge literature.
3. I usually sit in the park and write descriptions of people passing by. It serves as a writing exercise, and I often overhear interesting things.
4. I don't have any particular favorite stores, but Caihong has the right aesthetic.

You know, if it were physical everywhere, it'd be pretty convenient.

I try to draw passers by, but it hasn't helped lately. Maybe switching to writing may help.

I'll take you diving, if you want.

1. I fight what we call Bio-Organic Weapons (BOWs). Mutated organic material that can turn into what some would call "monsters". It's a pretty big problem in my world.
2. I know the best yakiniku restaurant in the city. :)
3. Honestly, I don't know.
4. My house is almost empty so your guess is as good as mine. I don't really have an eye for decorating.

It sounds like something out of a manga. That's pretty interesting. Do you just fight with -- typical things? Anything special?

What's the best Yakiniku restaurant?

Our apartment is due for some changes, luckily I have an eye for decorating, just no idea where to start.

Part of the job, sometimes. Don't have my wetsuit here but I could buy one.

Hand-to-hand, guns, knives. Rocket launchers. Not sure how typical those are?

Maybe try Amegahara now that it's easier to get to? Could find some things that suit other tastes compared to what can be found in the city.

Scuba diving as a means to attain fresh inspiration? That's quite ingenious.

Sometimes you have to do unconventional things to get inspiration. I personally find experience helps improve the quality of both my art and stories.

And underwater is a really big change of scenery. So it's worth a try.

Yes, he's a normal cat...Depending on what is normal for you, I guess. But he's what I'd expect when I hear about a pet cat.

...Is Peace a cat? I don't see why not, regardless.

It doesn't really qualify as scuba diving but I was born and lived most of my life in the sea.
I have magic that could allow you to breath, see and speak underwater without need of any equipment if that's something that would interest you.
It's only temporary but it lasts a good while.

That is pretty interesting on it's own. But it would be too good of an opportunity to pass up.

You didn't tell me you've been scuba diving! I never really took you for a beach kind of person, you know!

As for interesting places, I still like going up to the music department at the university and borrowing one of the practice rooms. That's pretty nice.

Instead of going to jail in the Spirit World for stealing from spirit world's artifact vault I was placed on probation in the human world and forced to work with a spirit detective.

[ 'Forced' is just to reinforce that begrudging tone. Past that first mission he's hardly been forced. ]

1. manipulated disguised team of youkai with my best friend in elaborate plot to win demon fighting tournament once. ranked in top 4 even though only the two of us survived. that was fun. good stories from those times.

Manga. I write and draw manga, so that's what I'm working to inspire. A change of scenery isn't a bad pick.
