[How did Ryoji get these pictures of everyone? Why does Aigis look like she wants to murder him? It is a mystery.]

I don't see what's wrong with it. If they wrote it down, I guess it's something that happens, right? I'm not worried about creepy women at all! I can take care of myself.

[There will be a moment of silence as Nike continues to listen to him. His talk of taking care of himself wasn't very convincing. Not due to his appearance. It had more to do with the way he was expressing himself -- empty words. All of it was meant to distract her, she figures.]

Just because it is a thing that happens doesn't mean you should be completely accepting of it if it ever happens. If anything, you need to learn to take care of yourself first, or else you'll never learn to take care of others.

I wouldn't say I don't like myself. It's more like, I already know where I stand whenever it comes to other beautiful women. I'm really dull looking. Why else would the royal painters change my portraits?

[Not to mention the maids and other noblewomen in the Ocean Kingdom were disappointed after realizing she was cross-dressing as a boy. Everyone preferred the male version of herself, and after seeing the true male version of herself -- she can see why.]

But...they aren't empty? Besides, looks aren't just what makes someone pretty. I don't know what royal painters are, but they were mistaken.

[His response will leave Nike silent as she watches him. There was that innocent part of him again. The one she sensed after listening to his post the first time around. He talks just like the playboys in her life while all at once his motivation feels different. This was weird, ironic, and simply interesting.

The words from another nobleman -- "stop measuring everyone by your own standards" -- will ring in her ears again. Seems she found another eccentric or another outliner.

Her expression will soften with intrigue.]

Royal painters are basically the old version of cameras. Artist who draw portraits of others. Back in my world, it was the only way to have pictures of anything. The only ones able to afford those types of luxuries are those parts of the royal family.

[It may be the closest confession of being part of royalty. Nike has never hinted or told anyone about that part of herself. And with that explanation out of the way, she'll move on to the most important part of the conversation.]

What makes someone beautiful in your eyes? I want to hear your honest opinion.

I see. I've looked at a bit of traditional Japanese artwork in Kyoto. The imperial family probably had such luxuries too.

That's an easy one to answer...the desire to live, to fight against fate despite its looming hand. In the end, everyone dies, but it's how you live your life that defines you. The fearlessness in someone's eyes or their gentle gaze...to make such beautiful emotions despite living for such a short point in time.

All royal families usually have enough to pay for luxuries.

[Her own small island nation is considered poor due to closing their borders from everyone in the world. And yet they had enough to pay for many portraits of all kinds of things and people. Which was odd.....

It isn't long until Nike begins to wonder about his words concerning humanity. He finds the fragility of life, its short span, and bursts of emotions and decisions within to be beautiful. The way someone lives their life which later defines their story. It sounded very similar to the way her family views humanity as well. Their roles as rain summoners are very much centered on emotions and the deepest aspect of an individual's heart. It's one of the reasons she fell in love with her fiance as well. His heart, his individuality, his strength, and his shortcomings as well. She loved him most when he made the effort to help others by stepping out of his comfort zone.

...or at the very least, it was the details she tells herself to believe in...

Unconsciously, a very weak, almost guilty, smile will cross her lips while she thought about it.]

...you're right. [More like.] I think so as well. Humanity is very beautiful. Not everyone is the same nor are they so different neither. Everyone has a story to tell. It's always interesting to learn about it.

[Was he from a world similar to her own? Believing the same philosophies as her family did? Nike can't help feeling curious while all at once not feeling too keen on prying further about it.]

Amegahara reminds me of a neon Kyoto so it's very beautiful! And there are hot springs and many lanterns at night! [Back in his world, his favorite activity. Oh that's a hard one.]

Hmmm...watching the sunset? Or just enjoying the world for its beauty...

Are you okay with the idea of a midnight outing to Amegahara? I don't know what a neon Kyoto is, but I could always ask you about it! Is the food in that area the same as your world too?

[He can't help but feel more comfortable during the night...midnight huh. Well it's not like the Dark Hour exists so it's more than fine.]

That sounds fun. Neons are the type of lights...that's what I heard them being called. The food is slightly different but it's still very delicious!

It does take a bit to get there, we'd have to leave earler. The Inari Highway takes about two hours.
