Because dates can be so many different things!

A friend date is a friendly outing between two people to get to know each other more. When it's romantic and you feel your love growing for someone, that's what we call a romantic date!

There's also blind dates where you go out with someone and you have no idea who they are! It's like a surprise!

The ditch is where you wake up, usually by the side of the road after they drive off with your unconscious body. The stitches you're missing are the ones in your clothes, because they'll have taken those along with everything else. It's been known to happen to people who don't keep their wits about them when they go out.
