[Rey isn't sure what to expect when she does show up. Somehow she still can't quite mentally prepare herself for a shorter, bipedal Konoha, though.

[Funny how weird someone looks when you're so used to seeing them a certain way, even if they are by your definition of "normal" now.]

Wow, holy shit...

[Despite her initial troubles, particularly with the newfound sensation of having more feeling in her feet and balancing when she was used to having a much heavier back end and more legs, Konoha has at least mastered the basics by now and isn't falling over much any longer. She even found the time to let back out a kimono she had been shortening for her natural state in order to get herself some proper modesty, now out and about in flat straw sandals and hauling a large basket of laundry.

At least shifting to a human form had not made her a weak thing. She's still built like a mountain jinba, stocky with just a bit of softening female curves, well muscled from the same sorts of hard labor... and even still with the one white sock, manifesting as a patch of what looks like vitiligo taking up her left foot.

Though she is... all of barely five feet tall now, straightening up upon noticing Rey's arrival... and then blushing at the reaction, muttering as she adjusts her laundry basket.]

Wh- What...

[She knows it's weird, okay!!!]

[Having woken up with 25 extra feet of body a few times over the last months, Rey can empathize the weirdness of just feeling more than you're used to. Balancing is still an issue when she becomes half-snake, but she expects it now.

[At least Konoha's is temporary. All the more reason for Rey to see this for herself.

[Which is a sight, for sure.]

Nothing. Nothing at all! [Her intonation is lighter than she's used to sounding to most. It might be an emotion they call "amusement", carried in her body language as well with her broad shoulders straightened and her hands tucked into the pockets of her cargo pants while she walks.] You're just so...

[As Rey approaches, also more stocky and muscular than the average woman, she finds herself having more than a half-foot over the other woman now.]

[So there's that tiny little other matter... of not being used to being shorter than humans. Konoha certainly was aware that she was petite for a mountain jinba, anyone was if they saw her stand next to her husband, who had a good four hundred pounds on her, but. She's supposed to look down at humans, not... up?

But though she makes a great show of stomping a foot lightly and huffing with a shift of her laundry basket... Konoha's pout is more put on than truly felt.]

J- Just because I'm smaller than Rey now... !

[If Rey hadn't met Gonta before, she would think Konoha was already big enough. She's hardly tall, but size had rarely ever mattered in her lives.

[She scoffs.]

Hey, that wasn't an insult! It's just... cute.

[Okay, that might not have been the most dignified word to use, either. But Rey has called someone cute before and she didn't mind, so! It's fine, right? Right.

[Anyway!]

Kind of want to bench press you now, to be honest. [Rey brings her hands out of her pockets to crack her knuckles into her palm. She stronk, and Konoha is smoll but also stronk. So tempting.]

[Rey's lucky that Konoha is Konoha and not a certain other small jinba that she worked for, who had completely banned the word "short" and "small" in her stunted presence. All of her huff is nothing but bluster, even the fist she rests on her hip is hardly intimidating when the only reason she goes over five feet tall is her voluminous bun.]

I certainly don't know what a "bench press" is, but if it's anything like picking me up, I warn you... I'm still quite heavy, you know! Even Doumeki-san had a little trouble after awhile!

[A man over six feet tall who was quite musculature that Rey might know as a fellow occasional farm hire... who she admits to having let carry her, she's not above that, okay! She'd had more trouble at first!

And okay, sure, Rey is like... metal-y, but. She's still going to warn her!]

[Welp! That sounded enough like a challenge that Rey wasn't about to change her mind now.]

[One minute Rey is flexing her fingers...

[The next, she's right behind Konoha when she braces her hands on either sides of the other woman's waist. Without warning or even giving her the chance to set down her basket of laundry, Konoha's very human feet are lifted up off the ground effortlessly as Rey holds her. It might not be a bench press, but it's a good warmup!

[This is someone who can lift a tank. A jinba woman in a human body ain't shit. Rey even finds herself barking a laugh.]

That's it? You can't be heavier than, what... forty kilos?

[No, Rey absolutely knows that Konoha is not 40kgs.]

[Konoha would have it known that if she was more nimble on her new legs, she'd have totally dodged that sneaky attack on her grounded-ness! Instead, she freezes up in surprise, legs slightly akimbo as she tries to awkwardly brace for being put back down, one hand gripping her basket still (she's not going to drop freshly clean laundry, however tempting it was!) while the other flies to brace herself ineffectively on one of Rey's hands.]

I- I'm at least twice that!

[Help! Send help!]

I'm supposed to be like ten times that- !

[It's obvious that Rey is teasing, but Konoha's reaction is too fun. People aren't always used to being hoisted like they're a sack of flour, and Rey loves to flex, even though she'd never admit it.]

Really? Sounds fake.

[Although she could keep holding Konoha for much longer, Rey decides to set her down. Though she's mindful not stay alert in case Konoha loses balance again. She's fallen on her own face enough times due to her snake tail to know better.]

Could probably lift your jinba body, too. Though not like that.

[Of course, Rey was built to punch holes in thick layers of metal. There's a reason why she makes the perfect resident pack mule.]

S- sounds like teasing, more like!

[She sees you flexing, Rey!!!

But thankfully she is soon returned to the ground, her legs moving a bit comically in attempt to find the perfect landing position before she remembers how it’s supposed to go... heel, sole, ball, toe.

Okay. Safe on the ground. Even though she definitely put her arm out for balance a moment like a gymnast sticking a dismount.]

M- Maybe don’t pick me up as a jinba... I don’t want to pull a muscle...

[It was entirely possible to do, yes, but done without regard to the comparative delicacy of where her long spine curved between equine and human-seeming parts, a lift without support in certain areas could occasionally prove painful. Something she had some experience with, goodness, super-powered people...

Readjusting her laundry basket, she pushes some flyaway hairs from her face and tries to rebalance, smoothing her hand over her hips and now nonexistent (existent) rear to unwrinkle her kimono.]

[Oh, it's definitely teasing... but Rey sees that Konoha has more than parsed that out for herself already.]

No worries. They say just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should. Deadlifting jinba women's probably one of them.

[She pauses, glancing down at the laundry basket as if noticing it for the first time. It doesn't help that Konoha looks very distracting in that kimono. Just as Rey is now very aware of Konoha's backside.

[Right. She came here to work, didn't she? Forgot about that for a hot minute.]

[“Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should” sounds like a great saying if you ask Konoha. Very smart!

Unlike Rey, who has obviously gone dumb and maybe blind? Konoha blushes as she pauses with a palm on her backside, looking over her should incredulously.]

[Her nice, well formed and muscular rump... is now a nice, well-formed and muscular ass, but. To her, the change is far too strange. They’re perfectly fine on human women, she’s sure, but she’s not one and she is Concerned!]

[And that's the part that has Rey confused:]

Well, you had to have known what you were signing up for when you drank that tea. [Pause.] Why did you buy the tea, anyway?

[Rey has seen what selection the shop had when she purchased her own Bird Box and Revivify capsules, and had visited it from time to time as well. So she's familiar with what the upsell on those items were. She can't deny the appeal of some of them, including being able to temporarily change your appearance.

[For the sake of the conversation, she's just. Going to at least try to not stare at Konoha's... assets for too long.

[She's insistent on that, at least, even as she still doesn't realize she's rubbing her backside- Why would she want to be human shaped? She was perfectly happy being a jinba, thanks?]

I just stopped by a cafe near that weird shop and had a drink when I was running my errands, but after I changed in to this they said it was a "collaboration"! I just thought it was made with leaves grown in the Lystellus mountains, not- those leaves!

[This... is one of the downsides of not being fully literate. ]

[Rey sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose (and totally not noticing that Konoha is still touching her own rump. Nope, not at all). Though Rey's pretty sure she read that that there's supposed to be some level of desire when drinking that tea, she can at least parse that Konoha didn't consciously intend to be bipedal today.]

So you didn't actually want to ever have two legs, even for a day? At all?

[While Konoha seems comfortable in her jinba skin, Rey's curious if there was some kind of hidden purpose. There are a few changes she could think of that'd make for an... interesting evening with a drink of that nature. She just tends to avoid purchasing items of status changing effects here.]

I mean, I don't want them... I'm a jinba...

[Even though in her world, it could be argued that it was easier to be a human, to be the species with the power and the numbers to dominate society and not be the one that had been enslaved not a generation past... Konoha had never really wished she'd had a different life. It seemed too ungrateful.]

I mean, of course I've been curious sometimes... I can't say I've never ever been...

[Not having been able to actually read the collaboration menu properly, Konoha had only caught words like "think" and "beautiful" and "feature"... and when it came to beautiful people that she knew and could envision (which she'd still obediently done despite not getting how that could be tea-related)...

Most all the beautiful women she knew were bipedal.]

[Interesting. Rey doesn't have the impression that Konoha actually wishes she wasn't a member of her own species, but she can relate to having a sense of curiosity about other experiences. Hell, she's still discovering new things almost every day.]

Doesn't have to be a permanent thing. It's just, you could've had a different hair color with that drink, but instead you got two legs.

[Her hand slips from between her eyes to slide down her mouth, eyeing Konoha for a moment.

[Fuck. Kimonos are really cute. Rey never thought of that before, mostly because she'd never seen them before coming here. Or most of the fashion tastes people have in this world. But it's definitely one reason she could imagine wanting to have a whole other appearance from the ones she's used to.]

Would be lying to say if I wasn't... curious about what it's like on other bodies. Well, ones that are different from my own.

[Rey's only ever been imprinted in synthetic constructs like the vessel she has now. Each of them are different in their own way, but none of them really compare to horse legs or a snake tail. Or the other crazy changes she's seen happen in this world.]
