So, I turned 17 today. I completely forgot that was going to happen. In my defense though, my birthday is usually in March and it's only now because it was September instead of May when I arrived in the last world that pulled people in that didn't live there.

... Anyway, for something those of you who haven't known me since before I showed up here might be interested in, does anyone want martial arts lessons? I was training a couple of people back in the last world I was in and it went pretty well there, so I figured I should probably start that up again.

For now compensation is negotiable, since I don't know how many people would even be interested in this in the first place and money here is... weird. Days of the week, time, and how often the lessons happen are going to depend on just how many are interested, but I'll let people know sooner rather than later.

Only in the kinda vague sense? I haven't really done much on level 1 yet and that seems like it's probably a good place in general to have some fun but again, not really sure on the specifics there.

Kairi heads straight for the gardens to meet Videl, pondering places they can go to celebrate. They've got an entire city to explore, so she should be able to find something for them to do.

Though if all else fails, they can just go on a walk through the city. The scenery is definitely nice enough.

When she sees Videl approaching, she raises her head and waves her over. "Over here!"

Videl grins when she sees Kairi, and quickly runs over to the other girl. It was nice, to just be doing something simple like this on her birthday, and not having a million guests over because it was expected of her.

Of course, if she were back home, she'd be home and maybe she wouldn't mind it all that much. Sure, Lunatia was nothing like Duplicity and she could see herself happily living here, but it still wasn't home.

Either way, thinking along those lines were just going to make her even more depressed, so she shot those thoughts down. "Hey Kairi! Thanks for coming to hang out with me on such short notice. Where do you think we should go first?"

"Hey don't worry about it. I'm happy to be here!" And if there's no one else around, well that just proves how important it was for her to take the initiative and invite Videl out somewhere.

"I thought we'd walk in the gardens for a bit. They're so pretty, and it'll give us plenty of time to talk without having to sit around somewhere." It was possible Videl would want to find a place to sit, but judging by what she knew of her so far, Kairi wouldn't place a bet on it.

Yes. Not sitting around definitely seemed like a good idea. It wasn't that she couldn't sit still, but outside of a few specific situations, she didn't really like doing it. "Sounds good to me. It'll be a nice change of pace, getting to actually see some wildlife."

Sure, there were parks in Duplicity, but Duplicity was not Lunatia.

"I mean, it's not like actually walking around outside the city, but that's something you really have to prepare for. It's a pretty harsh world, even for people with abilities." Indeed, given that powers required Chroma, it might be even more dangerous for them if they got careless.

Leading the way into one of the paths through the gardens, Kairi leaned back and breathed in the flower-perfumed air. It always smelled wonderful here, if nothing else.

Videl can't help but smile a little. "Yeah. Trust me, I have no desire to head outside of the city. Not unless there's actually a good reason for us to go ahead and do that." Like say, potential end of the world monsters for them to fight. Or a rescue mission. Stuff like that.

Either way, none of that mattered, and Videl followed after, keeping an eye on the plants as they began to walk past them. "Everything just... looks completely normal. You'd think with the whole 'different' world thing that at least some of the plants would look... well, completely alien."

"The last time I went outside the city was to release the dragons we raised." That had been quite an adventure, definitely not the sort of thing one did just on a lark.

Videl's comment was something Kairi had thought of before, as it happened. "Yeah, it's funny. Even the food is mostly stuff I'd expect to be able to find at home. Granted, you can say the same about most of the worlds me or the others have been to back home, so maybe it's not so surprising."

Videl blinks, about to ask about that before remembering that something like that was mentioned by Izuku already. So... yeah, raising dragons. Right, that was a thing. Not really all that important, or honestly all that weird considering everything else that she's come across before.

"Yeah, I guess. Thinking about it I really don't have that many references of other worlds to go off of. Either ones I experienced or ones I was told about." Still, with what she heard about the people on Namek not even needing to eat it sure seemed like there should be a lot of differences in the types of food available.

"Maybe it's just that we expect things to be different when we leave home. But from what I've found, that's not necessarily the case. Sure some things are different, but it's not at all the huge difference you'd expect."

Then again, it's not like the Prismals are shaped like insects or something. They're pretty close to humans, just... changed.

"Yeah. And for me, it probably has to deal with experience from back home too. Like, I've met people from other worlds even before I started travelling, and most of the aliens I've seen look a lot different from us."

Well, except for the Saiyans, anyway. She really has no idea why Goku and Vegeta look exactly like a normal Earthling.

"Now you've got me curious. What sort of aliens have you seen?"

Since almost everyone she's seen from other worlds has been just plain old human, aside from the King and his friends.

"Well, there's the Namekians, like Picolo and Dende. They're still humanoid, but they have green skin and have antenna that make them kinda look like slug people, I guess. Then there were Shin and Kibito, who technically come from the afterlife despite being alive. Though I guess other than the pointy ears and Shin's purple skin they're not really that different from non-animal Earthlings." There's another pause from her, before she shakes her head.

"And I guess I really should be the last person mentioning anything about aliens looking different, considering there's a bunch of animal people on my world who definitely come from my version of Earth, not another planet."

There's so much she wants to ask about that, but it's not hard to find what to focus in on.

"Wait, from the afterlife, but they're alive... Are they spirits or something? Wait, do spirits count as being alive?"

Question she never thought she'd have to ask. Then again, knowing her life that might have ended up being relevant.

"Not exactly. I'm not entirely sure how that works, but Shin is a god. Actually, like, the 'Capital G, in charge of the whole universe' god. Not that I actually knew that about him when I actually saw him, but I had that explained to me later. When a bunch of terrible stuff started happening." She pauses, realizing something else about what she was saying and shaking her head.

"Of course, considering in my world apparently being a god is less 'something you're born into doing' and more 'something you get hired to do', that probably doesn't mean much when it comes to describing what Shin and Kibito are."

Well that hits her upside the head like she just got slapped in the face. "A... a god."

It takes a few moments for her to regather herself from that. "That's... wow. Okay. You'd figure I'd be a bit more used to this sort of thing with all the stories Sora's told me, but I was not expecting that. Why was the god of your universe down on your world, exactly?"

"There was an evil space wizard who was trying to revive a magic demon to use the destroy the universe because..." Videl pauses, frowning a little. "... because, basically. I mean, he also wanted revenge for his father's death, but considering his father only got killed however millions of years ago it was because he was also using the demon to try to destroy the universe."

"Now evil space wizards I know a thing or two about." Though Xehanort was also a swordsmen, Kairi was pretty sure it was his magic that was really scary. Well, that and his weird ability to think of everything.

"Destroy the universe. Okay, sure. I've never gotten why anyone would want to destroy the place they live, but apparently some people are just that messed up in the head."

Yep, and Videl was completely aware of said evil wizard that Kairi was talking about, so at the very least she doesn't need an explanation about that.

"Well, from what I've heard, I don't think the plan was to literally destroy the universe. Just... all of the planets on it. I mean, that still isn't any better, but in theory that wouldn't have also killed him."

At least until he ran out of food.

"Even if he could survive doing that, wouldn't it be... really boring? He'd just be left to float through space forever with his demon."

Granted, destroying all the planets in the universe would probably take a while, but still, if his plan had eventually succeeded, the results would have sucked for him as well as everyone else. Sometimes, she just didn't understand.

"I guess I shouldn't expect to get why people like that do anything, though."

"Yeah, I'm not saying I understand it either, even if I know he would've technically still been around. I don't think he thought about things that far ahead. You know, despite having millions of years to think about it."

She sighs. "Not that it really matters anymore. The guy's dead."

"Well that's good at least. The demon too?"

After all, if the wizard died but the demon lived on without a leash... well that sounded even worse if that was possible.

"Yes... and no. It's a bit weird."

Still, now that she said that she couldn't not give Kairi an explanation, so... "It's a long story, but basically it kinda split into a good half and an evil half. The good half is still around and actually lives at my place back home now. Evil side is very, very dead though."
