I have a question, that...you'll probably understand my reasons for posting anonymously once you finish reading.

The local culture is very open and laid back about sexual interest. It's different as hell from my own home, where men who show sexual attraction are viewed as disgusting perverts and assumed to be dangerous, while people don't even fucking think about women having an interest in sex beyond wanting to have children. Some of the posts I've seen here would get everyone involved labeled sexual deviants for the shit they talk about in the open.

My question is, how do people adapt to it? I'm here doing my damn best to keep my mind out of the gutter because I've been taught thinking about anyone you don't want to date like that is disrespectful as hell and fucking creepy, but then I turn around and see people openly asking for hookups or rating each other's asses, and instead of people calling that shit skeevy, they either go along with it or treat it like a funny joke.

I know it's not prudishness, believe-you-fucking-me, my life would be easier if I was just naturally shy or reserved or whatever. It's an extreme form of culture shock, and I wish I didn't end up feeling like a dick constantly over the kinds of mental images I get from both the way people act in public around here and some of the things the prismals hand out as fucking party favors.

I've been to some areas of Level 3 that were fine, but a festival in a fucking red light district? The only way I could enjoy it was by doing my damn best to tune out the scenery.

What do you mean by relaxing to acclimate myself, though? You mean something like trying to relax somewhere I'd get shit for even thinking of going back home?

You know what... why don’t you do just the opposite sometimes. Get out into the groves or the beach even. Sexual acts aren’t allowed on the beach. The groves just has nature and farms. Lunatia has many spaces free of anything sexual. Give yourself time to breathe and walk in nature, darling. A bit of calm does the body good.

I probably could use something like a real vacation...

I'm so used to keeping busy all the time, I don't even notice anymore when it's turned stressful.

Who knows, maybe it’s the stress getting you into this state of mind. It could help to get away from it all... including the network. Disconnect for a while, as they say. And bring someone you love for the time off. I’m sure that after a couple of days, you’ll come back completely refreshed. ;)

I felt this way about myself even before I came here, but I was under pretty much constant stress back home, so...who knows. Maybe part of it is that I almost never get to indulge myself in general.

Do you have non-alcoholic drinks there? I don't think finding out what alcohol does to me would be very relaxing.

Of course! We’re a respectable establishment that’s mainly about entertainment! We even have a signature mocktail!

That sounds nice, then. One of the places I liked to go when I had some free time back home was a jazz hall with some delicious virgin drinks.

Well, Thursdays to Saturdays at Club Tourmaline are a lot spicier than a jazz bar, darling. But if you want that kind of feel, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are just music, dancing, and comedy.

All of my music is on a phone that I need a friend's help to recharge, so I don't get to listen to it as much as I used to. I've also had fun at the events with dancing here.

Well, I wouldn’t know you if you walked into the Club. People ask for me often enough so I wouldn’t know who to get a drink. And usually I buy a drink for anyone who asks for me.
