Text (shortly after the August Iris moon phase ends)
Hello, fellow Moonblessed! This is the Principality Aziraphale and I have a few subjects I'd like to discuss with you, if you have the time to spare.
One is simply a request for good book recommendations, though I'm also curious if anyone has ever run into books here they were familiar with back home?
The other is particularly for those also blessed by the Iris moon... Have you had any trouble with shocking things? And people? My last phase resulted in my being quite affectionate but it's a bit of a hardship trying to cuddle when you keep accidentally shocking your partner.
[There is a possibility of Crowley threadjacking, forewarning.]

As for shocking things... I'm Sanguis, so I ain't sure if this applies completely, but I spent a good long while learning how to trigger my fire magic. Usually involved sitting by my bath tub, just in case. Point being, it helps to experiment with how to control it on your own, so you do it by accident a lot less.

There did seem to be a component that was perhaps tied in to my emotional state of being. Did you find that to be true of your Sanguis fire magic as well?
no subject
Sure. Emotion's still a factor for me, sometimes, so I can't say I got COMPLETE control over it yet. But Sanguis folks tend to be more... angry. I'm guessing that ain't exactly the case when it comes to cuddling your partner... unless there's trouble in paradise.
[he's kidding]

[They have good dim sum. He'll go anywhere for good food. It's also just very pretty there.]
Well we haven't been angry-cuddling, I can say that much. He's a Cordis moonblessed, incidentally. It was more the difference between my being worried or my being relaxed. The latter seemed to make the shocks taper off into a tingle, at least.
...from what he's said, anyway. I didn't actually feel much of it from my side.

Makes sense. I can only make fire out of one hand, but the most I feel's a dull sorta warmth. Can't say I've found much solution to the emotional response yet, but I'd still recommend practicing either way. Like I said, makes you less likely to do it by accident.

I'd rather not be shocking people, so the practice is good advice. I'm just not entirely sure how to go about it. I suppose I'll have to find things that I could... Power with the ability?
[It just seems that most things might run on Chroma rather than electricity... He hasn't been paying much attention to the technology here. It's not really his thing.]
no subject
I mean. I'm a mechanical engineer around here. I got plenty of stuff that could use a zap sometimes, I guess.
no subject
[He still has candelabras in his bookshop. Electric lights, too, but. Also genuine fire-lit candelabras.]
That probably wouldn't even be considered mechanical engineering. Would that be... Automobiles? And the like? Combustible engines?
no subject
sorry, I temporarily got AC swept!
My partner has a car back home that he really loves. He's been missing it terribly since we arrived.
