Text (shortly after the August Iris moon phase ends)
Hello, fellow Moonblessed! This is the Principality Aziraphale and I have a few subjects I'd like to discuss with you, if you have the time to spare.
One is simply a request for good book recommendations, though I'm also curious if anyone has ever run into books here they were familiar with back home?
The other is particularly for those also blessed by the Iris moon... Have you had any trouble with shocking things? And people? My last phase resulted in my being quite affectionate but it's a bit of a hardship trying to cuddle when you keep accidentally shocking your partner.
[There is a possibility of Crowley threadjacking, forewarning.]

As for the books here:
[This is five entire paragraphs of book recommendations from what Atsushi's read in the library, covering a wide array of genre, tone, and intended audience. He includes brief summaries as well as what he personally enjoyed most about the books.
Atsushi reads a lot. It's an author thing.]

I had heard a bit about these orbs but I'm not as quick a learner as I would like to be when it comes to the technological. They can bring you material objects from home? Many of my own tomes have been signed by the authors and are quite special to me.

( TEXT. )
As for your shocking issue, good luck. Wouldn’t want to shock someone too much, would you?
[ Five, don’t be mean. ]
no subject
[Which is usually true but also he's had a fun time people watching while reading lately. So long as he's not being bothered. He'll also quite happily read alone with Crowley, or... Or! Oh here's an idea!]
Might be a bit fun to read aloud to others, though.
[He could come up with voices and everything, oh that's such a fun thought.]
Yes, that is rather the point of my asking for help with it, Five.

As I understand it, the Cordis moon grants its followers ice powers. Unfortunately, I have yet to freeze anything at all, much less without intending to, so I am afraid I cannot offer you much guidance. If you will forgive my curiosity, however, may I inquire as to your title? I have never met a "Principality".

Oh... well, it's a given role to an angel of Heaven. Just using it out of habit now, really, I suppose... Simply put, though, it means I'm a guardian of a place or of a group of people.

Maybe keep yourself in contact with some rubber, just in case?

I have found tomes similar to those I was familiar with
but they're a bit... customized to this world
As for shocking people, I've heard
some folks like that too?
no subject
Ah. Well. That's... Neither here nor there, really. I don't intend to go around shocking people either way, if I can help it.

As for shocking... I'll have to ask my sister. She tends to avoid the world during Iris, but I wouldn't be surprised if she found out how to be a walking battery.

I can also answer your question as a fellow Iris. I too had difficulty keeping my electric ability in check at first, but I've since found that it is helpful to find a place to expel excess buildup. In my case, I am able to feed one of my creature companions with the electricity that I generate.
There are also devices that can dampen abilities, though I find those to only be a temporary solution.

You... Shock your creature? On purpose?

I haven't shocked any people so far, but I'm familiar with the magic in question. It's proven very useful for keeping my phone charged. Sufficient focus should allow you to channel it where you want it, which is... presumably not into someone else.
no subject
Some others have mentioned that now and I hadn't considered the ability could be put to a purpose in that way. It may be interesting to test a bit, provided I can perfect my control over it.

As for shocking things... I'm Sanguis, so I ain't sure if this applies completely, but I spent a good long while learning how to trigger my fire magic. Usually involved sitting by my bath tub, just in case. Point being, it helps to experiment with how to control it on your own, so you do it by accident a lot less.
no subject
There did seem to be a component that was perhaps tied in to my emotional state of being. Did you find that to be true of your Sanguis fire magic as well?

I've seen Iris people get that kind of electricity thing before...all the moonblessings get a different type of elemental magic, actually. Cordis is ice and Sanguis is fire, so I suppose maybe the moons or moon gods or whatever were covering their bases...
[He says that rather innocently, but the actual gist there is really that they're covering all the things people might find...well. "Stimulating".]
Re: voice
I suppose they could have been. Now that you bring it up though, it does seem odd that they'd want to bless us with elemental magic, doesn't it? Unless they intended for us to use it fighting for them. To protect the moons, perhaps?

As for your other question, I think it depends on the blessing you're given as an Iris? My hair just transformed into a jellyfish just recently too, though I haven't shocked anyone with my tentacles yet. I hope your partner would understand that it's all an accident, though.

[If a few days of what's essentially constant static electricity are the price of having Heaven and Hell off their cases... well. Small blessed price, and He'll gladly pay it.]

I am not personally an Iris moonblessed and have no experience with uncontrollable added abilities. However, I believe the principles are probably not too different from using magic in general, so
Probably, you will get better with practice?
no subject
You know, I'd forgotten there were libraries on the moons, too. I've only ever been to Iris, since we all arrived there first.

Also, I have it on good authority that, with enough practice, you can absolutely charge a cellphone with the lightning magic that the Iris moon grants you. Maybe more than that if you've got a Moonstone necklace to amplify it.
no subject
That does seem to be in line with what I've heard from others so far, although personally my goal is not necessarily charging anything so much as just avoiding causing anyone harm.

[ She's never heard of the title "Principality" before, but it seems important! One that tickles her nerd senses. She wants to learn. ]
I'm Cordis, so I can't answer your last question. As for books from Remnant, I've yet to encounter any. Although I could buy some of those items from the monthly traveller so I can get some books from home here.
no subject
An independent scholar, perhaps... Can I ask what inspired the inquiry?
My partner is Cordis as well! And I've heard about this monthly traveller but haven't gotten a chance to seek out his wares yet. That could be something worth looking into, from the sounds of it.
