I can't imagine why you're jealous. Because I was Hakuno's Servant for a while? That she knows I use traps and poisons to fight? That I'm an Archer? Or anything about the Holy Grail War? That stuff is only important to Masters and a lot of it I just don't want to talk about. Hakuno knows because she was an enemy Master and I fought against her to the death. So what's there to be jealous about?

[she's making too light of it but that's because she doesn't know. all he does is frown at her, even as she cages him in where he's sitting. a real friend accepts all, she says. he'd rather be told what he did was bad like he knows it is than merely have someone accept it. he'd rather have someone say they forgive him for all his wrong-doing than just brush it off. though he doesn't deserve that forgiveness.

but Duplicity would turn into a celibate city before he could admit any of that.

Megumi tells him why she's jealous and drops her head on his chest. the scowl on his face softens as she explains it. if it weren't for Duplicity, it's true that Megumi wouldn't know him. he gets it -- Megumi is jealous because Hakuno knows him outside of Duplicity. that if it weren't for worlds like this where time is all fucked and so much can happen she wouldn't have any idea he existed. that's a large pill to swallow. that he really matters so much to this person.

what did he do to be so important?

chances are he won't remember Megumi if and when he ends up being summoned on the Moon Cell again. this time, to fight as Hakuno's Servant. she won't remember him when she goes back to her tribe, to be the Matriarch and live happily ever after with her husband and her kid.]

... I try not to think that far down the line when it comes to what's going to happen when I leave this place.
