I'm just... a bit burnt out on tournaments, I suppose you could say. I won a very sink-or-swim one as a total amateur, not all that long ago. Though, the people who fought with me were top class; that definitely helped.

Hmm, that's fair. Tournaments can be pretty taxing, even if you were prepared for them. But that's amazing! You're really good then.

As for me - I'm just addicted to winning, I guess. It's a good feeling when your hard work pays off.

We'll see if it's something that transfers over to an actual video game, I guess!

I don't know if I'm addicted to winning or if I'm just stubborn and refuse to lose. Victories nowadays are easier to stomach, with smaller stakes.

No experience is useless, as long as you're open-minded about how to apply it. Tactics and being able to make snap decisions under pressure, coordinating with teammates, and searching for solutions alone and collaboratively? You barely have to be creative at all, to find ways to apply skills like that to the rest of your life.

Are you sure you're not interested in trying for the tournament? I could use someone with your mindset - the experience, the skills, that comes secondary. They can always be taught, but definitely not the way you think.

(I think that's the right terminology! I don't know too much outside of English and Japanese, other than history. The only Chinese nationals I know back home are a very free spirited and volatile martial artist, and Lu Bu, who doesn't... actually speak.)
