Good afternoon Lunatia!

I'm Larry; Larry Laffer. I'm kind of new around here. It's nice to meet you all!

Now that Halloween/Geistnacht festivities are wrapping up, we're headed into November, or what we just call "the eleventh month" around here, I guess. Anyway, where I come from, there's a holiday called Thanksgiving that falls on the fourth Thursday of the month. It is what it says on the tin: a harvest holiday to give thanks for the previous year's crop. You celebrate it by hanging out with your family and loved ones, eat a gratuitous amount of seasonally appropriate food and drink, and watch sports on television together.

I'd like to host something like that here, if anyone would be interested. I know some of us might be missing our families from back home, but that doesn't mean we can't celebrate the friends and lovers that we've made here! Bring all the food and/or booze your heart desires, but as the host it's my responsibility to make the bird. (Whatever is the closest I can find to a turkey around here.)

On an absolutely related note, I could use someone on consult that knows how to cook.

This is meant to be an "open to all ages" kind of thing, but I was thinking that we could also have a post-dessert dessert of an orgy for those who qualify. That's not part of the tradition, but that doesn't mean we can't make it ours. I just figured that maybe everyone would like to leave the party topped off with turkey and Chroma for their holiday shopping. No pressure or anything, though!

Never been, but I hear it's nice. I tend to stick to the warmer climates.

None yet.

Still trying to see if there's enough interest to justify getting one in the first place. But I'm not worried about it; I've got plenty of prep time.

[Plus, coming up with passable alternatives as solutions to weird problems is kind of His Thing.]

Well, recruiting some locals is the most Thanksgiving way to do it. I'm sure the Prismals would be happy to help you find the closest thing this place has to a turkey.

It's not just a party. We're representing our planet here. [ but not just that — North America, they're two people who would have been in what now feels like spitting distance of each other.

Simon already likes Larry and I had a feeling this was going to happen but I've made my peace with it. ]

That's true. But they're pretty fond of us, aren't they? I'd hate to come off like I'm playing favorites.

There's a lot more Prismals than Moonblessed. I'm all for cultural exchange, but your after-dinner orgy might get pretty crowded if you invite everyone in Lunatia.

[ this is a half-joke, because the orgy sounds absurd to him, but for all Simon knows this is actually true? It's a sex planet. ]

...But it does kind of sound like the universe's coolest orgy, doesn't it?

I really wouldn't know, but it sounds chaotic.

I can't believe I'm having this conversation.

[ The alienness of Prismatica's attitudes on sex and the variety of weirdness in the Moonblessed means you have to give everybody way more benefit of the doubt than you normally would on these matters.

It would be nice to say Simon doesn't give Larry as much because he just has great intuition, but really it's because they're from the same planet and the same continent and the guy's name is Larry and Simon sold comic books for a living. They may not be the same species of dweeb, but they're in the same phylum. ]

No, but it's fun to think about.

[ ...that feels likely, too. Whatever Larry and his name are, they're so Earthly and familiar that Simon (who does have a dweeby name) is cool with it. ]

That's a difficult question to answer.

I was born in 1947 and raised to 1986 but recently moved to 2018 due to unknown circumstances.

You've never done a brain scan, have you?

Unless they did one when we got here, no, not that I can remember.

But you time-traveled to the future somehow before you got here?

Yeah. I don't know how.

I was born in 1988 and raised to 2015 but recently moved to 2104 due to unknown... Well, complicated circumstances.
You're the only other person I've met here who's been put through all that on their own planet. Hope you got a taste of the 21st century before this, at least. Maybe I'm biased, but I liked it.

Yeah, I did. It's a lot of...a lot. I like it, but there's definitely a learning curve.

Small multiverse, huh?

Yeah. Earth sure feels tiny now.

Would you go back to 1986, if you could?

Nah. It wasn't that bad of a year, but I'm not particularly attached to it. If I had the chance to go back in time I would probably try to make something more out of the 70s, or see what I'm missing of the 90's/00's.
