[ The woman looking to the camera has probably been through worse. She looks like there's some powdered sugar on her nose, her glasses are askew, and her sweater definitely has some chocolate smudges, but hey... at least her rabbit ears are fine? At the very least, she looks determined, like the utter mess behind her isn't fazing her in the slightest. ]

There are others here who celebrate by making their gifts, aren't there? Whether it be Firialia or Starlight or - anything, really. Since we're all ushered away here... or, well - supposed to be? Is anyone truly braving that icy tundra? - either way, since many of us are here, perhaps it'd be helpful to make gifts together.

I imagine those who have just appeared here may not have much in the way of Chroma to buy anything if they have someone close to them here, and there are some of us who are doubtless better with our hands than finances. The villa I managed to rent is far too big for just two people, so I've no problem having a few over if one wishes not to craft alone.

I'm not stepping out into that snow if I can help it. [ She grimaces. ] It's simply not good weather for a desert-dweller.

What possibly could have happened that you would so dislike the cold so? Simply because you are from a desert? I have heard that desert climes can be quite cold as well.

[In truth, there's plenty here that Perne would like to dive into, but talks of winter always come first.]

the desert only gets cold at night when you're already snug in bed
the cold is cold ALL THE TIME
and the ice is everywhere
you can slip and break something if you aren't careful
sand is soft and wont send you crying for a healer if you fall wrong

ive spent enough time in ishgard to know that it's pretty and also pretty deadly
dying from frostbite and all that
i'll give it somewhat of a pass since you can die from dehydration in the desert but not much of one
it's harder to manage

[Things to note: She doesn't like snow and she's familiar with Ishgard. And Perne... who has largely been quarantined for a good deal of her life has never... actually seen a Viera before.

I suppose for one not accustomed to it, it would be rather unpleasant. Whereas I confess that warmer temperatures tend to catch me unawares.

Surely it could be worse, however. We are not lacking in hearths, I should think or appropriate substitutes.

Is it customary here for people to be wearing armour in the cold, do you think? I have yet to see anyone armoured. Not that I have been here suitably long enough to make conclusion.

Regardless, I have to assume that the cold will not last forever. It seems unfortunate timing. Surely you have means of staying warm.

the moon knights wear armor of a sort
i can't say whether or not it is metal though as ive not gotten a good look
ishgardian knights did wear armor in the cold though
and yes i am perfectly warm indoors with my hot chocolate and fireplace

That is true. All of mine brothers are soldiers in the militia. I have not heard them talk about how cold it is in quite some time, however. Not since I was little. I had simply assumed they grew accustomed to it. As much as a soldier can, anyroad.

I will say that the hospitality here has guaranteed warmth, though I suspect I may go out and play in the snow as a means of feeling a sense of familiarity. Everything else can be foreign, but I am finding the cold weather something stable.

Although I will not deny that hot chocolate sounds good. Mayhaps I will need to see about acquiring some also.

i'm sure some soldiers do and perhaps your brothers are used to it

if your hands get cold hot chocolate is always the best choice to fix it

I was actually making jest when I said playing, though I may have to take in the sights. I never considered making sculptures in the Holy See. I doubt mine family would have even permitted it, really.

Although it seems you have given me an appropriate way to spend mine time. Snow appreciation and then chocolate. Thank you. I pray that you will continue to find a welcoming warmth. I would not wish the cold on anyone who did not desire it.

making snow sculptures does sound like something regarded as childish or uncouth in ishgard

I make no promises where formality is concerned. I suspect in time the conversation of those around me may alter mine posturing. In slight. If I should permit it to. Until then, hopefully it shall not be unbearable for those enduring mine presence.

We shall certainly see how long you can withstand it. Although if others are as formal, then mayhaps it will not rub you any differently than your other companions. I should think by this point, it is merely unfortunate grooming. I have only ever known how to be formal, so it may be some time before that should change. If it does.

You have not been here long, then, yet certainly longer than I have been. Although a courteous man upon mine arrival did explain things as they were for me. I have had adequate time to reluctantly accept the concept of their moons. Although I must needs inquire—are the moons and their respective cycles as horrid as they sound?

I was told that the cycles can also affect one's behaviours. I am unsure of how to say it without being unfortunately crude, which I would like to avoid if possible. Is there any truth in that statement to your knowledge?

I might not consider it a 'fear' as much as I would a potential discomfort. Yet I am more inclined to believe someone from mine world than someone who was not. If you feel it is nothing to be too concerned about, then I shall have to take that into consideration and pray you are right.
