A recent survey posted to the network has me wondering how many here have been here for a little while and HAVEN'T done anything more beyond platonic physical contact. I only wish to know how long you've been here if so. You don't need to elaborate unless you want to.

One more query.

Say you have a crush on someone who isn't here. And not just a tiny little fluttering of something but it's so ridiculously INTENSE that it's like a magnetic force draws you to them any time they're around. BUT you find yourself having similar feelings to someone who IS here. Maybe it's not as intense but you do really like them and think about doing similar things with them as the person from home. Even though you've barely done any of those things with anyone let alone had a crush before.

What do you do? Do you hold out hope that maybe the crush will just go away or that your crush from home will show up? Do you go for it and hope it doesn't ruin everything? Especially if you're unsure if they have any of the same feelings or if they might already be with someone else.

That's understandable. Back home everything has been platonic only I'm very much the type to initiate it. It's just that anything more has been difficult for reasons I'm not going to get into.

I get that. Everything with my crush back home is complicated for some of the same reasons anything more than platonic affection is. But there is also the added complication of him being in a serious relationship with someone else.

Back home, I have someone I have strong feelings for, still do

But I kinda like the culture here so I've been pretty intimate... but more casually though. Like friends with benefits

The way I see it is that everyone's relationship with me is unique. I can't really replace anyone in my heart with someone else, even if I wanted to

Maybe that's why I have yet to actually have a romantic relationship with anyone

I can see how friends with benefits would be a draw for some but I've never even had a normal intimate relationship before. I'd like to try that before I jump to something so casual with other people.

But then there's the fact the one person I really want isn't here. And even if he was there's the added complication of him being in a serious relationship with someone else. So even if he was here it'd feel like we're going behind her back...

Well I came close, but that person is already spoken for romantically. We're still on friends with benefits, so it didn't really change how we saw each other

If it's a crush and it's not reciprocated as far as you know, then it's not like you'd be cheating on them.

It would probably be different if you were, but since it sounds like you're not with that person back home I don't see why you can't see where this new crush takes you.

Yeah. I had planned to just squash it all down for various reasons. But I'm also curious about how others would deal with these kinds of things.

It is one of the best ways to produce Chroma and as someone who has a tendency with abilities that require it... I'm sure you get the picture.

Platonic affection has been good enough to keep me from being Chroma starved but sometimes it just feels like it'd be nice to have someone I can regularly turn to and not hope that one of my friends is available to help me out.

There are circumstances back home that prevent me from even being allowed these kinds of relationships. And, sure, that's back home not there but it feels strange to ignore all of it? Like I'm cheating the system somehow.

I just got here so I can't answer the first part, but the second part!! Make sure you tell the person! Even if they don't return your feelings, it feels good to know that someone cares about you. It'll feel good for you too to get it out and know instead of keeping it bottled up. You can't do anything about the person at home and you haven't made a commitment to them, so all you can do is focus on what's in front of you.

Well, it's certainly not the type of crush which involves actual damage to a person or object. It's a feeling toward someone. Like you really, REALLY like them and want to be around them all the time because they make you happy.

Is that how long you've been here or how long it was until you did something more with someone?

I cannot pretend to know your situation, but I have been told that a Moonblessed’s time here is often finite. I think it would be a shame were you to leave without having properly found closure, even if nothing more came of your feelings for them.
