Hello, my name is Soubi Agatsuma. When I first arrived here, I opened up commissions for that band everybody was obsessed over. Since we've moved past that, I want to advertise my art once more.

I'll paint anything. There isn't anything I won't paint. Subject matter, size, object, anything. I'm a university student majoring in art and have painted since I was a small child. I'll let my examples speak for themselves.

[The images he shows are simply pictures he's taken. One of them is a butterfly pinned down, one wing almost torn off in the struggle of trying to escape but being unable to. Another is a butterfly with its wings slowly burning away as it tries to fly towards the sun. The third example is a large landscape portrait of a forest...

With dead butterflies all along the ground. When he's in a bad mood, he paints butterflies. He's always in a bad mood.]

I have some examples of those guys that were here but I doubt anybody is interested in seeing those. If anybody is, though, take them off my hands. They're taking up space that I could use for other pieces and it was a waste of resources. 20 chroma a piece. 30 chroma if you want some details changed. I could change the faces.

We'll discuss the price of original pieces if you're interested but my base rate is around 40 chroma. I'm a fast worker.

How skilled would you say you are at painting flowers?

But he quickly paints a few roses because when he's going to guess, by user name alone, this guy likes roses. But they do show that clearly, he can paint flowers.]

You are very talented! I appreciate the use of a conventionally beautiful creature to portray the unyielding struggle of humanity to push toward their inevitable demise. Oh, Utopia...

What other subjects catch your attention, might I ask?

[Soubi paints to paint. An image comes to mind and then he paints it. There's never a meaning he puts to his image.

But if going to university has taught him anything, that is not the right answer.]

Thank you. I like to paint about struggles, I guess. Much like you said. It's something we can all relate to, no matter where we come from or our pasts.

If he wasn't in such a mood he'd have shot back a text remarking that he does sound like an art student. Nothing wrong with it, in fact, being able to make something out of nothing as far as the meaning was an invaluable ability. But, he is in a mood. Sorry, Soubi. ]

One could argue that pain is the origin of masterpieces, yes. I'd hope that some of it bring you happiness though.

I enjoy painting, myself. I tend to focus on parks... hills... whatever is around for me to want to capture at the moment. Certainly nothing worthy of a gallery showcase.

[He sends a picture of one of the BTSB* paintings he had done to sell although he's working on changing this one to being of just some random man instead of one of the members, looking up towards a deteriorating sky.

He doesn't usually paint anything happy. But at the least, it's obvious he knows how to paint people.]

they're a merfolk, could you use an oceanic theme for the painting?
some green seaweed with purple flowers would be appropriate imagery too, to represent the people who love them

Are butterflies a common subject matter where you've studied or is it a personal preference? And is such grim interpretations of these kinds of subject matter the norm?

I paint butterflies a lot because I don't like them.

[That might make no sense at all but he's never claimed to be very sensical. If there's something he's unhappy about, which is often, one can tell by what he paints.

If he's in a good mood, it's usually flowers.

Being kidnapped to a whole other planet did his art no favors.]

Why paint things you don't like?

[Sizhui is fairly innocent, but he's intrigue by the paintings and find them quite striking. For one thing, there's a common theme of pain, suffering, and death that he noticed in most of the paintings. He wonder what's the story, but figured it's only symbolic. Curious minds wanted to inquire.]

Is there a story to any of your paintings of the butterflies? I'm only curious and intrigued.

I'm sorry to disappoint. There isn't any story. I only ever paint what I want to paint. [Is there a deeper reason to it? Yes.

But it's one that Soubi doesn't like to think about too much.]
