[But turns out knowing how they move from watching and trying to do it yourself was two entirely separate things.]
I guess I do need to get shoes, though, if this lasts longer than a day...
[Dirty bare toes wriggle in the grass.]

[As if slightly scandalized now that her feet might be weird, Konoha tries to lift one, wriggling her toes and revealing now absolutely dirty soles from walking around and doing her usual farm work.]
I thought they were okay... for humans anyway...
[She much prefers hooves herself, but...]
They’re just really tender...
no subject
They're pretty weird. Paws, hooves? Those make sense. Feet are weird and flat and toes are stubby and useless and it's just... Weird. [An anti-foot person, apparently.]
no subject
[Now she's confused, someone else told her toes were useful for balancing... Who is right?!]
no subject
[Tanjiro with the internet is terrifying, actually.]
no subject
[Don't quote WebMD at a jinba-temporarily-turned-human??? Concerned, she lifts up a foot to try and grab it in her hands to feel if it was cold to the touch and not just her being sensitive to temperature because she's used to having rather unfeeling hooves, but-
Nope, just toppling backwards.]

Even though it comes with a yelp and a tangle of limbs and flailing and their heads knocking together before she ends up flat on her back on the ground.]
Tanjiro...
[It's not that she minds him landing atop her, there's nothing to be embarassed about there, with their relationship, but...]
When did you get so heavy... ?
no subject
Rude!! I'm not any heavier than I was before I don't think, You just don't have your crazy jinba strength.
no subject
[Even if it was her side of things, okay??? But she wriggles onto her side from her back, moving to try and shove a dirty-soled foot at him.]
But quick-- Tanjiro, help! Are my feet too cold? Is it normal cold? The weird teas here wouldn't make me a human with a sickness, would it?
no subject
You're probably fine, Konoha. It's November, and you're outside barefoot, your feet are gonna be cold.
no subject
D- D- Do you think I’ll be human long enough to need shoes? I really don’t want to be, but they’re all c- cold! And I need to do field work... !
no subject
My feet are bigger than yours, but I could loan you a pair if you wanted. Just for now?
no subject
O- oh, yes, please... ! I don’t want to hurt them then have a hoof problem when I turn back...
[if that’s how this works, she don’t know]
no subject
Do you wear horseshoes? Human feet are a lot more tender so our shoes are different because the whole foot has to be covered, but it's maybe similar.
no subject
She kind of just. Stays sprawled on the grass so she doesn’t have to try using her legs again yet.]
Those iron things? No way...
[Horseshoes weren’t too popular in her time period, but she’s learned about them in Lunatia.]
We just wear straw sandals like humans do in the winter, if it’s going to be slippery in the snow...
no subject
Oh! That makes sense, and is probably more comfortable. If you so it right horseshoes don't hurt the horse, but it's still probably weird to have stuff nailed into you.
no subject
Noooooooo thank you...
[She didn't want anything nailed in her hooves??? Even if she can't feel anything there... it seems upsetting? So she just kicks her legs a little bit in the grass, patting her thighs in confusion.]
I bet I'll turn back tomorrow... or- the day after tomorrow. Definitely not the day after the day after tomorrow.
[Definitely before Iris... right? Right?!]
no subject
[He shifts, laying on his stomach in the grass and patting her knee idly.] Yeah? I hope so, if you're not liking it.
no subject
[She rolls a little on her back this way and that, squeezing her legs together and pulling her knees up towards her chest. Admittedly, she finds it more fun when she doesn't have to try to balance upright, but- !
But... Her cheeks grow a bit ruddy, pushing the tips of her fingers together as she looks up at the clouds.]
I just want to turn back before Iris...
[How is she supposed to make love to her husband properly when she's this size???]
no subject
I can understand how that would be worrisome. Take your hair down? I wanna braid it.
no subject
[Really... really worrisome...]
I know he'll still love me because it's me, but Gonta isn't as comfortable with humans as jinba... I don't like that part...
[And also... Actually, she is curious what human ladies feel like, but. Not enough to want to be maybe super horny but afraid of her husband's dick??? Conflict...]
Do humans look better with braids- ?
[She'd never thought about it............... But she does roll back up to sit in the grass and release her hair, the thick ebony strands that usually fell to her withers now falling to... well, her hip? The equivalent.]
no subject
[He waves his good hand dismissively in front of his face. Enough of that--]
It's not that they look better, it's that I've wanted to braid your hair for a while, but you're usually too tall for it to really work because I'd have to be sitting behind you. [He scoots up to her and carefully finger-combs her hair to separate it.] One of the Pillars wears her hair in three braids, Nezuko always had me braid her hair like hers after we saw her.
no subject
But she's free with offering her hair, cocking her head curiously as she feels him start to run his fingers through strands that smell faintly of camellia oil.]
Oh.
[Well, she was much taller, that makes sense.]
Does three mean anything special... ? None of the women in my time braid their hair.
[Westerners bring in all sorts of crazy things to Japan, huh? Braids???]
