Nope. You were my weird neighbor. I thought you were rich and spoiled and naive, even if you were kinder than most people I've ever met in a weird, genuine way. So even if I didn't immediately like you, that just means that I had to get to know you more deeply to understand you, you know?

[ She reaches for his hand to pull it between them. It's a visual demonstration this time though, not just because she wants to hold his hand. She puts them flat against each other between them, finger flat against finger. Then she slips her fingers between his and locks them down while they're woven together. ]

Our bonds had to be built up because we're very different people. Now they're really strong. I know they'll hold even if we have challenges. You're the only person I can say that for sure about, okay?

[ She's never gotten into an argument with Mayu, she's only gotten him involved in theirs. She doesn't have certainty there, even if she does love him. Mercury has straight-up told her not to involve him in her identity crises and other shit before, even if she knows he's got her back when push comes to shove. Akashi is the only one she knows can withstand no matter what. At least, that's what she's convinced herself of. ]

[ Now that he's being a tease, she's the one who's taking what he said a little too seriously. Similar to when she was telling him earlier that she loves him more than he loves her. He doesn't think about that now, but he's a little stunned as he listens and watches their hands. ]

You wouldn't have been able to. I've never actually courted anybody before, but I think I would have been very persistent.

[ It would have been very gross. Flowers every day, picking her up every day and walking her back to her apartment. Gifts almost everyday??? Lots of things Emerald would have been embarrassed about. ]

I know we don't agree on a lot of things, [ He squeezes her hand gently as he looks at her, coaxing her to do the same. ] and I know I can be difficult at times, and you say I'm weird, but I wouldn't trade what we have for anything else.

I truly mean it when I tell you that I'm lucky to have you. It's not just something I say because sounds nice or that it's what you want to hear.

[ IN her defense. She had no idea he was capable of teasing and has just started to assume that everything is serious...... she's doing her best here ok!! ]

Hmmmm... now I feel like I missed out. You should court me sometime.

[ She wants to see!! Though she'll settle for now looking where he wants her to. ]

I know it's not something you just say. Me too.

The opportunity's passed. Not to mention, I wouldn't be courting anyone else. The chance to court someone's never going to come again.

[ It's not like he's not excessive in everything he does now!! ]

It doesn't change anything, though.

[ She's still the most special person to him!! ]

[ She's joking. Please god let him recognize that she's joking. Just to make sure he does, she gives him a little grin. She couldn't actually dump him. She doesn't even think she's physically capable of it. In fact, she can't even let it be a risk that he doesn't recognize it. ]

Kidding. I couldn't do that even knowing it was temporary.

[ He doesn't think she would actually do it, but... ]

Please don't joke like that.

[ It's not funny. :( He doesn't want to be dumped, even though he threatened her before that he'd leave her and she had to choose who she'd be with. It was said in a moment of weakness, and he hopes it never happens between the two of them again. ]

I won't. I didn't like saying it even as it came out of my mouth. That's why I made sure to say it.

[ That it's absolutely a joke.. ]

[ Somehow, the extremity of what Emerald says doesn't even shock him. He's just as extreme with the things he says...

He gives her a small smile before tugging her hand so she can get up. ]

You still haven't introduced me to a hoagie.

[ Their food is getting cold!! ]

[ She smiles back at him. It's nice that she doesn't scare him. Yanderes of a feather flock together? ]

[ She slips off the counter, then gestures to the hoagie. Which is a cold sandwich anyway, so it's fine. It's meant to be cold. ]

Seijuro, this is Hoagie. Hoagie, this is Seijuro.

[ Okay, maybe not half. But joking aside.. ] A hoagie is just a sandwich with like, spiced, dried meats and vegetables and super soft bread.

It's so big.

[ That's what she said. ]

[ She gets out a knife from his drawer, then cuts about four inches deep so it's more reasonable to hold.




Then she squishes it with her hands to flatten it enough to fit in her mouth and takes a bite. 'u' ]

That's so messy.

[ Can't they just eat with a knife and fork? Or maybe a napkin...

In fact, Akashi goes to get two plates so they can eat properly. ]

Can you put the milk in the refrigerator? I'll move the food to the dining table.

This is a working class sandwich! Whatever that means.

[ Em never made it up to working class really...

But she does lick.. some sauce off of her palm before reaching for the milk. ]

[ Don't think he didn't see that!! ]

Emerald, use a napkin.

[ Busted!! She straightens up, then goes to grab a napkin to wipe her hands with. Then, she puts the milk away. ]

[ Once the table's set and the hoagie has been transferred there, he sits down and waits for Emerald to sit with him.

Akashi fully intends to not use his hands to eat the sandwich. Watch him, Em. ]

It's not going to taste right if you don't squish it.

[ She sits down across from him, holding her hands out. ]

Do you want me to do it?

[glorifies]

[ He actually slices a small part and squishes it with the flat of his knife. ]

That's alright, you don't need to. I'm fine.

Okay, eat your sandwich with a fork and knife. So weird...

[ what an extraterrestrial ]

This is perfectly reasonable.

[ He's not the only one who eats sandwiches with a knife and a fork, ok!! ]

Ah, I have a dishwasher now, by the way. I plan on buying my own washing machine and dryer next.

I've never seen someone eat a sandwich with a knife and a fork.

[ Never!! Though she blinks because of what he said. ]

Wait, you want to wash your own clothes!?

[ Forget the dishwasher, what is this weird revelation?!! ]

I would still pay the cleaners to do the laundry, but I think it's more efficient to have a machine here than go to the laundromat every so often.

[ At least, he seems to think it's a better idea! ]

I guess.. that way you only have to pay one suspicious person.

[ she thinks for a second, then decides to take a bite and tilt her head in thought as she chews. ]

People who do laundry aren't suspicious.
