[ Akashi glances at the sandwich - it's big. He'll definitely have to ask how it's eaten later on, but for now... ]

[ He hasn't been patient so she really shouldn't reward him. But Emerald never any good at not spoiling him so once she's completely unloaded the food and groceries, as he requested, she turns around and rather suddenly jumps onto him. Hands on his shoulders, legs around his waste, lips against his. How's that for a proper kiss, you impatient dope!? ]

[ It's a proper kiss. It has Akashi's seal of approval.

And his hands are on her ass when he catches her. He has to make sure she doesn't fall! He's not horny or anything— at least, not at this moment, but he does want to kiss her and taste her because even just a day of not seeing her makes him miss her a lot. Not to mention, he feels really excited that she's here to visit, even if they made plans for the next week just an hour or so ago. ]

[ She isn't thinking he's horny or anything. She isn't either, she just wanted to blow him away with an overdramatic kiss the same way he tried to. She has to make up for it, you know? she kisses him for a good few seconds before pulling back, but not hopping down yet. She'll stay here until he moves his hands so she can get down. ]

I picked a birthdate, by the way.

[ He's actually going to sit her down on the counter while he places his arms on either side of her. They can talk like this. It's fine, and it's not like they're doing anything messy in the kitchen. ]

[ She shifts so she's comfortable on the counter, looking him dead in the eyes. ]

April 23rd.

[ Ask her why!! She's pretty sure it's the best thing she's ever thought of, and it shows on her face that she's absolutely certain of this date. ]

[ There's a lot more things he can ask, but it looks like Emerald wants him to ask her why. He'll give her what she wants. ]

[ That's. The funniest thing he's ever heard, and he lets go of her to cover his mouth as he laughs. It's not him mocking her—far from it—but even with her birthday that she chose, she was still thinking of him and Mayuzumi. At least, he seems to get her reasoning for choosing her birthday, anyway.

He rests his forehead on hers once he's done. It's not like he had a laughing fit, anyway. ]

I look forward to celebrating your birthday next year and the upcoming years to come.

[ She blushes at him laughing. She thought it was really clever okay!! But with his forehead against hers, it's a mild, happy embarrassment. Out of all the reasons to choose a birthday, it made the most sense to her. It's the two people who make her feel most alive, most real, most herself, most happy. Something that represents them.. of course she would choose that once she figured out it was an option.

She smiles after he speaks again, quiet for only a moment before adding: ]

I love you, Sei.

[glorifies]

[ He moves his face so he can rest his chin on her shoulder when he holds her close to him, his arms wrapping around her back as he does. ]

I love you, Emerald. I'm really glad we met.

[ Even with all the bad memories in Empatheias, he's gone through so much with Emerald, and he's thankful to have her here with him now. He thinks, sometimes, that he would be as devoted to her as he is now even if they hadn't started dating. Emerald became that important to him. ]

[unhappy]

[ She wraps her arms around him as well, holding onto him tight and thinking quietly for a moment, then whispering: ]

I wish I'd marked down the day we met, so I could've chosen the day my life changed into something worth being happy about.

[glorifies]

[ That gets him to chuckle again. ]

You didn't even like me before.

[ Even as a person!! ]

[ She pulls back and looks at him, pouting a little. ]

I don't like anyone when I meet them, but most people don't change my life either.

[glorifies]

[ He lets go of her when he pulls back. He looks a little disappointed, and he even sighs as if he's got a big problem. ]

Ah... You didn't even consider me a friend before.

[ Now he's just being annoying on purpose fdlskgjd ]

Nope. You were my weird neighbor. I thought you were rich and spoiled and naive, even if you were kinder than most people I've ever met in a weird, genuine way. So even if I didn't immediately like you, that just means that I had to get to know you more deeply to understand you, you know?

[ She reaches for his hand to pull it between them. It's a visual demonstration this time though, not just because she wants to hold his hand. She puts them flat against each other between them, finger flat against finger. Then she slips her fingers between his and locks them down while they're woven together. ]

Our bonds had to be built up because we're very different people. Now they're really strong. I know they'll hold even if we have challenges. You're the only person I can say that for sure about, okay?

[ She's never gotten into an argument with Mayu, she's only gotten him involved in theirs. She doesn't have certainty there, even if she does love him. Mercury has straight-up told her not to involve him in her identity crises and other shit before, even if she knows he's got her back when push comes to shove. Akashi is the only one she knows can withstand no matter what. At least, that's what she's convinced herself of. ]

So be happy I didn't friendzone you!

[ Now that he's being a tease, she's the one who's taking what he said a little too seriously. Similar to when she was telling him earlier that she loves him more than he loves her. He doesn't think about that now, but he's a little stunned as he listens and watches their hands. ]

You wouldn't have been able to. I've never actually courted anybody before, but I think I would have been very persistent.

[ It would have been very gross. Flowers every day, picking her up every day and walking her back to her apartment. Gifts almost everyday??? Lots of things Emerald would have been embarrassed about. ]

I know we don't agree on a lot of things, [ He squeezes her hand gently as he looks at her, coaxing her to do the same. ] and I know I can be difficult at times, and you say I'm weird, but I wouldn't trade what we have for anything else.

I truly mean it when I tell you that I'm lucky to have you. It's not just something I say because sounds nice or that it's what you want to hear.

[ IN her defense. She had no idea he was capable of teasing and has just started to assume that everything is serious...... she's doing her best here ok!! ]

Hmmmm... now I feel like I missed out. You should court me sometime.

[ She wants to see!! Though she'll settle for now looking where he wants her to. ]

I know it's not something you just say. Me too.

[glorifies]

The opportunity's passed. Not to mention, I wouldn't be courting anyone else. The chance to court someone's never going to come again.

[ It's not like he's not excessive in everything he does now!! ]

It doesn't change anything, though.

[ She's still the most special person to him!! ]

[ She's joking. Please god let him recognize that she's joking. Just to make sure he does, she gives him a little grin. She couldn't actually dump him. She doesn't even think she's physically capable of it. In fact, she can't even let it be a risk that he doesn't recognize it. ]

Kidding. I couldn't do that even knowing it was temporary.

[ He doesn't think she would actually do it, but... ]

[ It's not funny. :( He doesn't want to be dumped, even though he threatened her before that he'd leave her and she had to choose who she'd be with. It was said in a moment of weakness, and he hopes it never happens between the two of them again. ]

I won't. I didn't like saying it even as it came out of my mouth. That's why I made sure to say it.

[ Somehow, the extremity of what Emerald says doesn't even shock him. He's just as extreme with the things he says...

He gives her a small smile before tugging her hand so she can get up. ]

You still haven't introduced me to a hoagie.

[ Their food is getting cold!! ]

[ She smiles back at him. It's nice that she doesn't scare him. Yanderes of a feather flock together? ]

[ She slips off the counter, then gestures to the hoagie. Which is a cold sandwich anyway, so it's fine. It's meant to be cold. ]

Seijuro, this is Hoagie. Hoagie, this is Seijuro.

[ Okay, maybe not half. But joking aside.. ] A hoagie is just a sandwich with like, spiced, dried meats and vegetables and super soft bread.
