I've been struggling with this exact question since my arrival.

I learned I was destined to make a horrible mistake...and I still haven't found satisfactory proof that it's avoidable.

But the answer I've arrived at for while I'm here is that even if knowing where I went wrong doesn't change anything back home, it can change things here.

The people from our own worlds might forget, but to the Prismals, there's no undoing our actions. That alone brings meaning to our efforts at being better people.

And, as for the people from our own worlds...I'd rather change for the better but find it doesn't matter, than learn too late that I could have changed my path.

Anyway, it all gives me a headache, but it's probably not that there's only one world, one reality, or one destiny. Not in my beliefs. What's in yours?
